Hi, I'm Angelica!

I'm originally from Colombia, so Spanish is my native language. I moved to France four years ago — first for an exchange program and then to continue my studies — so I also speak fluent French. I've been learning English since I was young, and I feel comfortable communicating in it.

After finishing my degree in Biology (with emphasis on marine biology), I am now doing a master's in Biodiversity, Evolution and Conservation at the University of Valencia in Spain.

Last year I did a volunteer experience in Brazil and I fell in love with the idea of traveling with a purpose, contributing to different causes, and above all, having the opportunity to meet new people and share cultures and languages.

For this reason, this summer I want to venture out again to travel and explore new countries through volunteering.

I will be traveling from June 22 to July 5 with my friend Julie, a 20-year-old French girl. After that, I will continue my journey alone.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a very dynamic and versatile person with a wide range of interests and skills. I’ve already done volunteer work, mainly as a youth leader in different associations. For example, I’ve worked with AFS, helping prepare exchange programs for teenagers (15–18 years old), and with EDDF, a secular scout organization in France, where I was in charge of groups of children and teenagers (ages 6 to 15). These experiences helped me develop strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

I’m very comfortable working outdoors. I enjoy gardening, taking care of animals, and doing physical tasks. I’m also quite artistic — I love drawing and painting in my free time.

I’m also very sporty. I’ve practiced several combat sports such as karate, krav-maga, and judo, and I’ve also done circus arts and climbing. I love to run and swim regularly, and I recently started to take suf class. I’m always happy to stay active.

Finally, I really enjoy music and dancing — I love any opportunity to connect with others through movement, rhythm, and creativity.

I'm always ready to learn new things, take initiative, and help wherever I can!
