Hi everyone!
We are Andrea and Alexandra :)
We live in Switzerland! We'll be traveling soon during the summer as part of our university English program and we're looking to find somewhere in Ireland, as this wonderful country has always interested us.
We’re interested in finding a place in the countryside and help out on a farm or something similar. We’re active, friendly and curious people. We’re looking forward to learning new skills!

Here's a little introduction:

I’m Andrea, 26 years old and from Switzerland. I’ve been enrolled at the University of Bern since 2022, studying Archaeology as a major and English as a minor. In my free time I enjoy climbing, hiking and reading as well as spending time with friends.
I have some previous workaway experience as I’ve spent almost a year back in 2018 and 2019 on workaways in Canada, Norway and Iceland. I was mostly working on farms with horses, sheep, sled dogs and cattle, so I’m familiar with animal work and care and it’s honestly something I love doing. I consider cows to be my favourite animals and follow a vegetarian diet partly because of that. I can do hard work (honestly enjoy it) and do not mind getting my hands dirty. I'm a quick learner and very eager to help. I also enjoy cooking vegetarian meals, though I’m far from perfect at it.
This would also not be my first time in Ireland as I took part in an archaeology-excursion back in 2023 with our university, where we travelled through Ireland by bus and visited some very interesting megalithic tombs and archaeological sites. I’ve seen a lot of the countryside but haven’t been fully emerged in the culture so I would love to make up for that with this workaway stay and explore your local region .

I’m Alexandra, 21 years old and also from Switzerland. I have been enrolled at the University of Bern since 2022, studying Archaeology as a major and English as a minor (this is how Andrea and I met!). I’m very motivated to do some work and learn about life on the land, and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty. I’m open to any type of work, whether it be more physical or hands-on. I currently don’t follow any special diet, but I’m open to anything because I’m not a picky eater. That being said, I would love to cook more vegetarian meals. I’m slightly lactose intolerant, but this has never stopped me from consuming dairy products.
I have never had the pleasure of visiting Ireland, although I’ve been meaning to go for years now. I’m looking forward to exploring nature and beaches and doing some outdoor activities. The top of my bucket list is visiting historical sites, though :). In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, going to live events, and cooking. I’m not the best cook, but I truly enjoy making things with my hands! I’m social and enjoy spending time with others, but sometimes I also need some time for myself when my social battery runs out.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I (Alexandra) have worked during summer on some excavations for multiple weeks, so I’d say I’m pretty physically fit. I’m a quick learner and can be motivated for about anything! Especially when it comes to new skills. I like animals of all kinds and would love to do more with plants. I work well in a team but can also stand my ground. I’m also looking forward to try new things in my free time.

I (Andrea) have been on farmstay workaways, so I have experience with animal care (feeding and mucking out stalls of cows, sheep, horses and chickens). I also worked with sled dogs (feeding, handling, cleaning) and am very comfortable around animals. I enjoy working outside and don't mind getting my hands dirty. During my studies I have also been on archaeological excavations. I can ride a horse, but haven't done so in a while so I might be a bit rusty.

We're big fans of history, so we'll probably try to visit as many historical places as possible in our free time and spend much time outdoors. We enjoy visiting cities
