Hello! I am Alexa :)
Two years ago, in 2021 during the pandemic, I finished school and moved out to study Cultural and Business Studies in a small town in Bavaria, Germany. Since then, I am very eager and excited to explore the world around me, meet new people, find beautiful connections, discover unknown places and learn new things!

In my free time I love to cook and try different recipes, however, I especially love to bake bread or something sweet - You will never find me without food! I also enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, going for walks in nature or meeting my friends out for dinner, exploring new bars or enjoying the sunset. In general, I would describe myself as a cheerful, open-minded, empathetic and active girl, who is very easy to get along with.
I was raised in a loving family by my parents and my elder sister in a small village near Munich. We also have a small dog called Nera. Since two years, I am living on my own with other students which I also enjoy very much.

Workaway really speaks to me because it is such a great platform to meet new people, exchange different cultures and create beautiful memories. I would like to travel in the upcoming semester break while also improving my Spanish and helping others. So I am really excited to meet you and start my adventure with you!

I really enjoy learning new languages to connect with people.For a few years, I taught English and German to kids in school, so I am interested in teaching those two languages now as well. In school, I studied Italian for three years because I am half Italian. Sadly I am not fluent but would love to improve my Italian.Since October last year, I am learning Spanish at my university and I also went to a Spanish summer school for two weeks. I really love the language and the Spanish culture! I want to improve my Spanish as fast as possible because I want to study abroad next year. Hopefully, I will get the chance to boost my Spanish with a workaway exchange!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

During my time in school, I worked at the local lunchtime supervision/afternoon care for children from age 9-14. My tasks were to look after them while they were playing outside, support them with their homework, accompany them while they ate and even do creative handicrafts together.
In addition, I gave private tutoring lessons in German, Math and English.
The last two summers, I worked in a bar/restaurant as a waitress but sometimes I also prepared the food or cakes. I love to cook and bake so this was very fun!
My family has a dog called Nera, so I am also familiar with taking care of pets. I went to dog school with her and also did dog agility.
In general, I would say that I have a strong hands-on mentality and don’t shy away from work. I love to craft things, be creative and explore new activities. My room is full of plants and I enjoy taking care of them. I love to garden as well, such as growing fresh herbs or planting vegetables.
