Hi everyone! I'm Alessia, I'm 24 and I come from Italy. At home, I live with my parents, my twin siblings, and my little dog, Zeus.

I wouldn't say I'm shy, but I usually need a little time to truly open up to people. I’m a creative soul: I love writing fantasy stories in my free time and I enjoy art, though it’s been a while since I last picked up a pencil. I’m also a huge animal lover. My dream is to one day have a place of my own for them—even if that lifestyle can be a bit challenging to achieve here in Italy.

I decided to become a Workawayer because I feel a strong need to reconnect with nature and take a break from my routine. My passion for travel started at 16, when I lived in Costa Rica for a year. That experience was life-changing: I learned Spanish and fell in love with exploring new cultures and lifestyles. That’s exactly what brings me here.

I’m also looking to improve my English; I have a good foundation, but I’d love to gain more confidence in speaking.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Currently, I work as HR People Experience for a large Italian company. My role involves organizing both in-person and online events to boost employee engagement and foster a sense of belonging among my colleagues. I also manage Employer Branding activities, building connections between our company and universities, both in Italy and abroad.

I hold a degree in Literature and Communication and a Master’s in HR Management. I'm a native Italian speaker and I’m fluent in Spanish, thanks to the year I spent in Costa Rica. My English is at a good level, but since I don't get many chances to practice speaking, I’m eager to improve.

At home, I’m very organized and enjoy keeping things tidy. I can cook, though I might not live up to the 'legendary Italian chef' stereotype just yet! I love animals and I’m definitely not afraid of manual work.

From housework to gardening, I am a fast learner. I might be a little slow at the beginning because I’m a bit of a perfectionist, but with a little patience, I always get the job done thoroughly. :D

Beyond my professional life, I’m a mix of a creative soul and an active spirit. I’m a huge fan of fantasy literature (right now, I’m diving into 'Mistborn: The Final Empire' by Brandon Sanderson) and I love writing my own stories.

I also have a strong background in sports: I played competitive volleyball for 9 years, which taught me teamwork, discipline, and resilience. I’m a true mountain lover and an avid hiker; nothing makes me happier than being outdoors and exploring nature. Of course, my biggest passion remains animals, and I’m always happy to spend time caring for them!

Fun fact: I walked part of the Camino de Santiago in 2021.
