Hello! We are Sierra and Alec. We currently live in the US. My boyfriend, Alec, and I have always dreamed of traveling.

About Sierra: I am 28 years old. I grew up in California, USA, but I have lived all over the country. I work remotely as a freelance reporter for a local newspaper. In college, I studied international relations, because I have always been interested in learning about other countries. So far, I have been to 6 countries, and I hope to visit many more! I did work exchange for a few months in 2018, where I visited Spain and Netherlands. It was one of the best, most rewarding experiences I have ever had, and I can't wait to do it again. In my free time, I like to do photography, sew, cook, and write.

About Alec: I'm 29 years old, currently working as an independent web developer with a number of clients across all industries. This has been my full-time occupation for the last four years. Since my work is fully remote and my schedule is flexible, I'm interested in pursuing my long-standing interest in seeing various places around the world. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano, painting, and programming. As my work schedule is entirely self-governed, I'm available to work and provide assistance as needed.

We are very excited to start this journey!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We both have some gardening experience. I (Sierra) love children and have a lot of experience caring for them, both as a baby sitter and while helping care for family members. I love to cook, and have worked in restaurants as a server and barista, and doing some food prep, so I know my way around a kitchen. While I am not an expert home renovator, I am a quick learner and have assisted with smaller projects such as house painting and tiling. When I previously did a work exchange, I worked in two hostels, at a retreat, on a home renovation, and on a boat. During this time, my tasks including housekeeping, cooking, various home renovation projects, landscaping, baby sitting, and catering.

Alec has not yet done a work exchange, but he is a quick learner and is very handy. He has helped his family with their garden and helps out around the house, repairing various things. He is very outdoorsy, and knows a lot about animals, the wilderness, and nature. Alec spent years in the Boy Scouts organization, where he worked on different projects and learned many practical skills such as first aid and fishing. Alec has also worked with children, when he participated in a mentoring program in which he tutored young kids.

Currently, we both only speak English fluently, but I am learning Spanish and Alec is learning French. If you speak either of those languages, we would love to practice with you! We would also both be able to help teach English, because we both are good writers and communicators, and understand grammar rules quite well. I also like to sew and could help with some beginner sewing machines projects.
