Description
Fresh out of PhD, in the process of reconnecting with the world and getting my hands dirty!
I’m Ale (they/them) and I'm currently on a gap year, hoping to engage in practical work that feels aligned with my values. Social and environmental justice, gender equality, and resisting all forms of oppression are at the core of who I am.
Some of my recent international volunteering experiences include teaching Italian in Croatia, working on a school construction site in rural Guinea, caring for farm animals (cows, pigs, sheep, etc.) in an antispeciesist sanctuary, contributing to a community garden in Oxfordshire (UK), and working in a permaculture garden in Cyprus.
I also enjoy and have some background in theatre and performance poetry, as well as music (piano and guitar), yoga, and martial arts. I value a balance between alone time and community life, and I’m really interested in group dynamics and communication, especially within activist and volunteering spaces. -
