Hello everyone
My name is Albert, I'm 31 years old and I live in Roses [Catalunya (Spain)]
In January 2020, after many years living in Barcelona, I made the firm decision to live a Workaway experience. I had everything ready, but unfortunately, COVID-19 came. This forced me to stay in Barcelona longer and, almost without realizing it, after changing different jobs and flats, we have reached 2024.
My desire to learn about new ways of living, other professions, countries and cultures has been stronger than my work and social stability. For this reason, this year I left my job and my wonderful flat (it's not easy to find a nice and cheap flat in Barcelona) to do what my heart tells me to do.

As for me, I consider myself a pleasant and easy-going person. I like humor and that the people around me have a good time. I'm an athlete and a lover of literature, I always carry a book on me. I also really like cycling and, especially, doing long routes by bike or on foot.
I really enjoy nature, I'm very curious about plants, the sea and the weather.

My working life can be divided into two branches: the restoration of works of art and the restoration of restaurants. After several years working in art, I moved to a high-end restaurant where I discovered the world of wines: my new passion.
Regarding wines, I have learned a lot about sommeliership, but I lack the basics, viticulture and oenology. This is also a reason why I am here.

I would like Workaway to also allow me to improve my languages: especially English and French, and also improve my Italian, which I am good at but I have not forgotten it.

Finally, I would like to say again that I find workaway to be a fantastic method to meet people and new cultures in a more sustainable way. For this reason, in the last few months I have started couchsurfing in my flat (which is not the same as workaway but I consider that it does share many ideas). This experience has allowed me to meet many fantastic people, eager to live life and see the world, and all of them have helped me to do the same.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I think I have different skills that can be of help:
1- In one artistic project: I'm graduated in History of Art and Restoration, I know painting and different types of materials and how to work them. On the other hand, if it's a spectacle, I've done some circus shows and I can help.
2- On a farm: My parents have olive land and, every year, I help them in the pruning of olive trees. I'm aware that I am amateur and that there are many other tasks in agriculture, but when I'm pruning my olive trees I'm feeling in peace with me, it's a good sensation that I think that I can feel in other tasks.
3. Pub, restaurant, hotels: I've worked as a waiter during my university period in Barcelona. I have experience in this world. Time passes quickly in this work and you can have a lot of fun if you have a good team.

I'm obsessed with the Literature, If I don't have one book for my pastime I'm feeling anxious. My dream is to write a book!!
I've failed with the guitar, now I'd like to learn to play the violin.
