  Description

  Hi, I am Amy, a 51 year old real estate agent and interior designer. I am married and have 2 teenage sons in addition to 2 cats and a dog. We live 35 mins from NYC in a beautiful suburb filled with interesting and talented people! Many writers, actors/actresses and musicians live in our town. We welcome people from all walks of life! I have been studying Italian for 6 months so far and am determined to be fluent by the end of 2025. I am very interested in speaking Italian with a native speaker in exchange for teaching them English and learning the American culture. We love animals, travel, sports and socializing with friends. I am also a lover of dance and music.

  We have numerous volunteer opportunities in the community if interested such as social services for homelessness, animal rescues, food pantries. We also have many music festivals and street fairs. Since I am a local real estate agent, I am aware of local activities and know many many people in town. As a family, we are highly interested in learning about different cultures from language and cuisine to beliefs and rituals. We also want to share the American life with others and build a bridge and mutual respect and admiration.

  I have been studying Italian since Jan 2024 with 2 tutors. My goal is to be fluent by the end of 2027 and to seek my Italian citizenship by way of my father's side. My family can teach someone English and the American Culture. We live next door to NYC which is full of experiences!

  Hébergement

  We live in a 5 bedroom home on a quiet suburban street that is only a 12 minute walk to shops, restaurants and the train to NYC. We have a bedroom and private bathroom to offer. My husband does most of the cooking and is very good at it since he trained in NYC restaurants for a few years. Breakfast and Lunch will be available but not always prepared. Dinner will be prepared but will also be a night out at a restaurant.

  We are a very relaxed family who loves animals and time with friends. The mountains are less than 2 hours away and the beach is 45 - 60 mins away. The city is 35 mins away by train where you can go to all the museums, empire state building, central park, Fifth Avenue, Soho, etc. We have lakes near by and the South Mountain reservation is 5 mins from our house where you can hike. We don't wear shoes in our house and we have a strict no smoking policy.
