Description
We are a busy family of 4 with one cat and a puppy, running our own business, teaching yoga, and volunteering for our educational charity, here in Karimunjawa. We have an ongoing garden project on our 5,000 sqm private land. As well as growing fruit and vegetables, we are also landscaping, planting and creating a variety of small, unique spaces around the land. We want the land to be as organic as possible, prioritising natural fertilisers and pesticides. We would love help training our puppy.
This island has a small, close knit community, who love to help each other out, so there will be many opportunities to explore the island collecting a variety of local flora to plant in our garden.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Volunteers can fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty that the island has to offer, as well as learning about the cuisines & customs of the local community. Volunteers will also be contributing to the development of self-sufficient food production on the island.

**GARDENING**
Primarily we’re looking for people with knowledge in permaculture/gardening/landscaping and who have experience growing in the tropics. We have 5,000 sqm of private land that we have started turning into a fruit and vegetable garden. There is a freshwater stream on this piece of land, but water is still limited in the rainy season, so we’d love a way to catch more rain water or somehow save more water. We really need someone with experience growing in the tropics and we’d love for this person to share their skills and knowledge with our caretaker who will tend to the garden in the long-term. The key here is that we’d love to create a two-way exchange of knowledge between local gardeners and experienced permaculture volunteers.Langues parlées

We have kayaks at our guesthouse which are free for volunteers to use. There is a live coral reef surrounding the guesthouse, a turtle sanctuary and white sand beach all in the same bay. Volunteers can also join weekly yoga practices when available, as a compliment.
Island hopping trips are the most popular activity on the island, along with beach hopping, mangrove trekking and a general exploration of the main island. There are also camping and diving opportunities.Informations complémentaires
