Come help with gardening and DIY projects in Confolens, France

  Description

  I live in a small, charming town of Confolens with my husband Neil. I have a fairly large garden and need help to get it in order and to do some projects like a bit of fencing. There are lots of things to do and places of interest around us.
  I am offering en suite accommodation in my home. I have 2 small, friendly dogs and 5 hens as well. I also have a pool.

  I am Scottish and speak both French and German to a reasonable extent. I have family in Canada, Argentina, Brazil and China and I enjoy meeting people from different cultures.
  Confolens is a medieval town with lovely old buildings. A few kilometres away there is A Roman bathhouse in excellent condition to visit. There is a velo rail in the town also which goods to a neighbouring town and its a great day out. A bit further afield there is Monkey Valley where the monkeys are mostly free and a very good adventure park.

  Aide

  Part of the garden is finished but some is still a bit of a jungle. I would like help to put in new boundary fencing and also laying some slabs. Ability to use a concrete mixer would be good. I'm also constructing a new, larger hen house and would like to lay foundations for a new greenhouse but obviously not all at once!

  Hébergement

  Twin or double en suite room. We would provide continental breakfast, a light lunch and dinner each evening. Volunteers would be living in the house and eating with the family but there is also a bbq of they feel like using it. They would have use of the pool also.

  There is not a lot of transport here. There is a bus that goes to Angouleme during the week but there is not any other public transport.
  This is a non smoking household though I don't mind in garden. Although from outside my home seems to be on a fairly busy road the garden is long and very quiet and the rooms are well insulated and double glazed.
