  Description

  I am tweaking our permaculture garden as I am trying to now create a forest garden. Also, I plan to use the bamboo I have harvested and dried, will need to preserve it and then use it for building. Many little projects I can use the right help on.
  
  We built our main home in Jarabacoa in the mountains of the DR. We traveled the world to see how cultures and communities have functioned, including traveling as work awayers in Italy.
  
  I am an international keynote speaker, award winning author and thought leader. My wife is an entrepreneur and runs sales and marketing for our companies.
  
  Our home is a peaceful, tranquil and healing environment, drama free. We are surrounded by nature, gardens and waterfalls. Our gardens are created on some permaculture ideas, particularly water management, hugelculture with slope/terrace management. Still trying to develop a vegetable garden but we travel away for lengthy period making this tough. Early stage management of a small fruit forest growing.
  
  I am looking for 1 or 2 persons to help me with the building projects that I am doing myself. I have built most of the structures at our home with some limited help. You must be passionate about cooking as you will be asked to cook meals and help out in the kitchen.
  
  Normal stays are between 1 to 2 weeks depending on the season and projects. I start working about 8 am, break for lunch about noon, and then work another 2 or 3 hours after lunch. With this schedule, we do about 2 hours longer than the normal WorkAway 5 hours a day, but we then work 4 days instead of the normal 5 day, and you can take 3 days to travel or do your own thing.
  
  Darlene makes lunch during those 4 days we work, you do the dishes. You may be asked to do the meals too if you are vegan or have special diatry needs. Sometimes you may make dinner for us, or be on your own. You are on your own for breakfast. On the days we are not working, you will be responsible for taking care of yourself.
  
  At the begining of your stay, I will fetch you in town at the bus and at the end, return you to the bus. But any travel outside that is on your own. We are 15 min outside town and we don't go unless we must for groceries or building supplies.
  
  You are in your own earthen cottage near the main house, but will share a bathroom if the second guest room is in use.

  You will be interacting with my wife and I. We have built our own companies, worked with world leaders and had may varied experiences. We enjoy sharing these experiences helping to challenge the person's views of the world using different filters, teach our knowledge that includes financial literacy, relationship development and discussing alternative housing as you help on the new cob / clay straw slip building, climate change progress, alternative health care and permaculture gardening.
  Our home is in the mountain and 15 min from the town by car. You need to be able to handle living in the country side where it's quiet and with nature. Our neighbors visit there homes sometimes as 95% are second homes. Its a secure, gated estate.
  We live a pretty quiet life in nature listening to our environment. We don't like loud music as we want to hear the birds sing and the sounds of nature. Its a very short walk from our house to our waterfalls.
  While you have your own space, you are still a part of a family.

  Aide

  I am working in my garden of my food forest, pruning trees and doing some planting and managing the food forest. I also do some building and maintenance around the property, but that depends on many factors. I typically work from 8 am till lunch time, then till mid afternoon.
  
  No building skills are needed as I will teach you how I need you to help me.
  You must be willing to help out in the kitchen making meals. Hence you must be passionate about cooking. You are on your own for breakfast before we start our projects.
  
  You will either be outside with me, or helping my wife, or both.

  Hébergement

  You will have your own room, but may have to shift around depending on guest visits. If we have a second work away person staying, then your bathroom is shared. We expect you to keep your spaces tidy at all times, make your bed each day, keep your dishes washed and put away.

  We are 15 minutes outside of Jarabacoa in a very quiet gated community. Our estate is one of the best for nature, relaxing, meditation, yoga. We have an extensive electronic library so bring your computer and we will give you access to our reading collection that can positively impact your life. If you need a lot of stimulation from bars and nightclubs, then this is not for you. You are three hours from the beaches, but here is a lot of hiking, whitewater rafting and canyoning for off time in the area.
  My wife and I are very easy going and enjoy both entertaining or quite relaxing time. We will find the right balance. Our hope is that this period is one of the most uplifting and possitive experiences of your travels.
