Description
Hi, my name is Lara; and I live in an Ecovillage 2 hours north of Sydney with my son and partner. It's a beautiful area, that backs onto Strickland State Forest. There are so many community members and volunteers to enjoy the village with. We have events almost every day that you can join in on! More info about the village can be found here:
It’s really easy to get here by train or car from Sydney.
We are building a small home for our family, it's a big milestone for us! We want to share the journey with some Workaway people. We have hosted many people before through Couchsurfing and student exchanges. It's a good opportunity to have a cultural exchange and to reach our goal - to build a home!
Our home is designed to be ecologically sound. It's a pre-fab kit home and we are doing the fit out almost entirely second hand. Where are we up to? Almost the fit out! That means lots of fun, creative design ahead :) -

My partner is an ecologist and keen on birdwatching and bush walking.
I work in health, speak French and love to surf.
Our son is 10, he's outgoing with a lot of energy.
The Ecovillage has lots of events on - from dancing, music, craft, gardening, swimming, yoga, zumba etc. -
Aide
General labour and building/carpenter skills, or just a strong person who is willing to learn! Honestly you don’t need to have any experience, we would show you everything you need and work with you with whatever you are comfortable doing.

Hébergement
We offer camping accommodation with other volunteers in the village. The camping has everything needed to live (tents etc).
We would provide all food for volunteers.
The camping area is beautiful! It's right next to the forest and swimming hole. -

There are loads of things to do in the central coast. If you have a car you can drive to beaches nearby, lakes, forests etc. If you don't have a car - don't worry! We will take you places to visit the area, and often there are other volunteers in the eco village you will become friends with and share!
