I enjoy working to some good tunes, hiking, paddling and heading out dancing or to yoga. Also hunting and food processing of all kinds in the fall. I am involved/ connected in with various local cultural, arts, sport, adventuring and land based activities here. I am part of a local indigenous restoration work at my families village site of Xwaaqw'um (Burgoyne Bay Salt Spring). Help out with summer youth camps, harvesting and processing local indigenous plants. Benefits during spring/ summer months are participating and learning from local Indigenous Elders and knowledge keepers. You can learn about local Indigenous land and sea use, and cultural experiences or learn the best spots to go hiking/ adventuring of all kinds!

Would 100% recommend, Joe is an awesome person and the Lodge is a magical place on an even more magical island.
I am so grateful for the amazing experiences I have had this summer, and can’t express how special this place is and how much I have gained from being there.
Hych’ka Siem Joe :raised_hands:
I stayed at Joe's twice. After my first 10-days stay in October I came back to spend Christmas, which was the best decision I could have made. Joe is simply awesome. He is a great teacher, buddy, host, carpenter and became a dear friend.
Since I am very interested in carpentry I could learn a lot from him, and he had great… read more
