*Currently we are renovating the guest area and have therefore no sleeping space for workawayers, in autumn we start a project on a field and might need some help with planting trees and shrubs.*
Tom (33) and me, Alexandra (29) took over the old farm of my grandparents, we are renovating this house which was built around 1900.
Our aim is to use natural materials to keep the charm and be environmental friendly. We are doing most of the work by ourselves, basically everything except some electricity and heating work. The main part is to use clay at the inside as plaster, we are happy to share our experiences with this amazing material with you.
Further there is the typical farmhouse vegetable garden which we are using again. Our wish is to be self-sufficient with regards to vegetables and fruits, this also includes conservation (jam, pickles, fermentation, freezing...), everything is organic. You are welcome to relax in the garden and eat what is ripe :)
In the area are great walking trails which are also perfect for mountain biking. We have bikes here which you can use. The farm is in a rural area, the small village is very cozy surrounded by forest and fields.
I am having a job in Bonn where I am 1 day a week, if you want to escape the village life you can discover the city as well.

We are in a typical German countryside, however Tom is Dutch and I am German, we both like international surroundings and are open-minded. You will get to know the mix of German and Dutch culture.
What would you like to learn? We are keen to get to know your interests. Our project is big and we can see which tasks we do together so that you are happy. The work with clay is one major part of the work and we would like to share our knowledge in this with you.
We need help with many things and you can tell us what you like:
- building and renovating the house
- clay plastering
- wood work
- painting
- vegetable garden (weeding, seeding, harvesting)
- fruit trees and shurbs (harvesting, pruning)
- conservation of all the foods

We have a guest bed for you in a separate room, all other facilities we are all using together.
At the moment the guest bedroom is next to the kitchen, we need to pass the bedroom to enter the kitchen, we have also another room where you could relax if you want your quiet space. We will respect your sleeping times, and not pass the room when you are asleep.
Due to constructions the guest toilet is outside in a shed, in the house we have a bathroom with a toilet, it is ensuite to Toms and my bedroom, you can use it during the day, but at night you would need to use the toilet outside.
Usually we are cooking vegetarian, sometimes Tom eats meat, we like to experiment and are happy to consider your dietary preferences :)
There are regular buses to the next city Mayen, there are all major shops, usually we are going by car once a week. Further local parties are fun to attend or just enjoying nature.
If your want to come to our place we can pick you up by a near by train station for example Kottenheim or Andernach.

We live in a rural space, so the internet is stable and ok but not very fast. Uploading large files can be difficult. All usual things are possible like: E-Mails, browsing, even video calls ;)
We have the space to park a camper infront of our house.
