Description
I live on a small hobby farm in the Black Forest with my parents, a lovely dog, two cats, chickens, two Kune Kune pigs, and five Valais Blacknose sheep. We live close to a train station (20 min on foot) and close (7 km) to the beautiful village of Schiltach with very picturesque timbered houses. While everything is on a slope here, it's a beautiful area for hiking, mountain biking, and anything else you can do outside.
I used to travel a lot with workaway and had some truly amazing experiences and met the most lovely people. I would like to continue this now as a host and give others the opportunity to get to know a country or region in a unique way that goes beyond what a tourist can ever learn. -

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
There is a lot of tradition in this area and communities organise many events, especially over the summer. On the farm, I'd love to considere workawayers as flatmates, sharing experiences and stories.

There is always something to do on the farm, depending on what you like and where your talents lie: maintaining fences, cutting grass, clearing brush, cutting wood, picking fruit, building something or other or just giving the animals some attention. Most jobs are easy to learn and just need some stamina. I have a mile long to-do list and would love some help with it :-)
I am mostly self-taught with everything I do (or taught by my former workaway hosts), so I'm happy to share my skills or learn from you. Since I have a full-time job, you'll mostly be working alone, although my parents are retired and usually around somewhere. In the evenings and on weekends I'm working on the farm as well, so anything that needs more set of hands can be done then. -

Hébergement
Accommodation will be in your own room in my flat, that I newly renovated last year, sharing kitchen and bathroom with me. I work mostly from home apart from one or two days a week. I have to admit that I am not a passionate cook, so while I will of course provide all food (mostly vegetarian or whatever other diet you prefer), I would appreciate if we could share preparing it.
If you prefer to camp, there is a flat lawn at the farm and an outside toilet. -
Autres infos...
I prefer shorter stays of up to two weeks. No smokers, please. While you're here, you're welcome to borrow my electrical bike to get around. I'm happy to give tips on hiking routes or what to go and see. Most activities will be nature-related.

Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads
The internet access here is great (min 250 Mbit/s) and you can work at the kitchen table or set up a little work station in your room. You can easily organise the work at the farm around your own job.

Espace pour garer des vans
There is a bit of flat area to park behind the shed with electricity and there is an outside toilet. Otherwise you can use the inside bathroom and kitchen.

Possibilité d'accueillir les animaux
There's already so many animals here that you're welcome to bring your own as well. The only limitation is that my dog is an intact male who can be difficult with other male dogs f they are very dominant themselves.
