We're a small association of pilgrims running a small vegetarian albergue on the St. James Way to Santiago, in a quiet village named Pieros. We greet and care the pilgrims who arrive here and share with us their Way.

You'll have the opportunity to meet everyday different people from all over the world, and share their deep and spiritual experience about their own Way, no matter the cultural or social heritage. This is going to give you the chance to practice languages (especially if you're interested in english and spanish).
You'll live St. James' Way from the side of who's caring for the accomodation, food and the soul of the pilgrims, the hospitaleros.
You'll have the chance to live and learn about the cultural region of El Bierzo.
We need enthousiast and hearty people who wish to help the pilgrims and us with daily chores.
We also need somebody able to cut and chop wood, build a small shelter and with skills for small carpentry jobs.
We also need to grout a stone wall.
We'll eventually need help for a small garden.

For the accomodation, depending on the present volunteers, we might have an available caravan, and sleeping places either in a mezzanine or in the meditation room. You might have to share those with the pilgrims during the daytime.
The albergue is vegetarian, but it is possible to have meat and fish times to times.
There is an available kitchen, we usually do rotation for cooking and have food together. Initiative for the volunteers' food is welcome :)
The resting room and shower are shared between the volunteers (and sometimes with the pilgrims).
Available washing machine.
We do NOT accept pets.
Internet connection is not available in the albergue, you'll find wifi connection in the closest village, Cacabelos (2km)
We're between important stages on the Way, Cacabelos and Villafranca del Bierzo, the first known for its wines and the last for being the previous capital of the county.
The largest town, Ponferrada, is at 19km far from the village, and there are daily busses reaching it.
Many landsights and historical sites are around and worth visiting, especially Las Medulas, a World Heritage Site, and many more, merged in the nature.
