    Description

My husband and I are running a 540 cow dairy farm just 10min from a little town called reefton

We have always had a special love for the outdoors and animals, so it made perfect sense to become farmers where we can enjoy the land, sun (and rain) and gorgeous scenery. We have two friendly dogs, cat, horse 4 chickens 2 ducks And of course LOTS of cows! Our animals seem to always be growing.

It would be advisable to have your own car if you prefer to have your independence to explore the area in more detail.

Good Kiwi hospitality! You will be treated like family with spare time off to explore the most beautiful parts of NZ.
Our farm borders the ingangahua river which flows all the way to westport and out to sea. We have our own secret spots on the farm that are great for trout fishing, camping or even having a south African bbq (braii) on the open fire pit we made. We like to be as self sufficient as we can so if youre open to new experiences then we'd love to show and teach you anything from farming to making your own sausages!

Apart from ourselves, we would love for you to experience true Kiwi hospitality and see how we farm on the other side of the world.

Tasks shared, may include a little housekeeping/cooking/gardening and tending to our animals. Farm work is not required but we will show you around to experience what farming is like.

This would definitely suit a traveler/backpacker who is looking for a bit of adventure with a taste for some Kiwi hospitality. You must be honest and be able to communicate! No experience needed, however, you should at least have a good sense of humor! Our biggest expectation from guests would be to respect our home, and animals as they are part of our family, but we also want you to feel comfortable and enjoy your stay!

We have a lovely large 5 bedroom home. 1 queen and 2 single beds so far. Guests have their own private room, a guest bathroom and lounge. We have a double lounge/kitchen area great for if you like socializing, cooking or just chilling by the fire.
There is free use of our internet we finally have unlimited but limited in connection areas due to a huge house. We do also have hundreds of movies stored on a harddrive for you to use in your lounge.
We do not supply alcohol or cold beverages apart from the normal tea, coffee, Milo and of course milk.
Hopefully by the time you come we'll have vegetables in the garden and a steady supply of eggs from chooks. Our goal is to be self sustained especially with food. We don't eat many treats or snacks unless we make or bake it.
This is not a place suitable for special dietary needs as we eat mostly meat. Breakfast and full lunch or dinner are provided.

We are a young couple who enjoy having fun and try to keep our life stress free as possible. Always up for a good laugh around the fire watching the sun go down. We love listening to music while working or cooking and of course learning new things!

You will need to organize your own transport for days off and sightseeing etc Applicants must be drug free, clean and tidy.
There is alot to do here on the westcoast. Good walks and old ghost towns to explore.
