    Description

    **please read the whole profile**

The Farm Domestead is an OFF GRID 20+ acre paradise located in McNeal Arizona.

We are Kyle and Ash, we have four kiddos that we homeschool, we love working HARD and figuring out new ways of doing old things. Our favorite things aside from working would be having thought provoking Bible study, drinking strong coffee, and going on nature hikes.
As individuals Kyle enjoys building many things, working on aquaponics systems, and shaping this land of ours to restore it to what it once was and make it even better than it ever was! Ash is into native plant identifying, breadmaking, and building/planting with the kiddos. We like to have discussions about the things of life even if we don’t agree. We love learning new perspectives and sharing ours and don’t expect everyone to do life the same as us!

On the homestead you will find 8 geodesic domes used for various purposes, a little swimming hole pond, a walking trail around the perimeter of our land, Navajo churro sheep, some rabbits, chickens, and possibly cats, and of course our dog Millie who is a loveable high energy border collie. We practice rotational grazing and are interested in ways we can feed ourselves and our animals from our own land. We have a small greenhouse where we start plants and trees, and have hopes to finish our giant aquaponics greenhouse.
We are in the high desert so the temperatures can swing 50 degrees on any given day and July-September is our monsoon season where you can expect heavy rains and all sorts of cool critters and plants come out to play.

We are inventors, creators, and entrepreneurs. Looking forward to meeting new people and working along side.

The ideal Workaway volunteer would be self motivated, good at following instruction, respectful of boundaries and excited for life! You will need a car as all amenities are 20+ miles from us.
Our flow is 15 hours of work a week over 3 days or so and we provide housing and a space to cook your own food. No food should be expected from us ♡
*** no smokers will be accepted, this is non-negotiable***

And electric/water hookups if you have your own rig :)

    Autres infos...

there are plenty of mountain trails nearby, we are close to a major birding destination (white water draw), Bisbee is a 20-mile trip (cool artsy town with restaurants, an overpriced grocery store and live music weekly) plenty of beautiful desert scenery. we are 40ish minutes from Sierra vista (the closest city with most amenities like target, Home Depot, farmers market, and the food Co op.) and about 2 hours away from Tucson (big city with basically everything from stores to museums, to the zoo)

I recommend checking out the Chiricahua mountains while you’re here because they are breathtaking. ***you need a car while here***
