  Description

  In the middle of restoring an old wooden schooner named favourite. Looking for someone keen on learning some boatbuilding skills and not afraid to do some general labour on the boat. Sanding,shop clean up etc. Located on the Fraser River the surrounding area has a lot to explore on a simple little rib for your leisure. She is pretty spacious inside as far a boat goes but living quarters are still quite close. The focsil has two bunks if a duo was interested in joining. To be clear the boat is in a shop space in a boat yard and to glamourize it would be to call it rustic though it is a very welcoming and colourful environment with many other work aways doing similar things on neighbouring boats. It is a one of a kind experience you will never forget

  From Fiberglass to planking and corking, metal work and traditional rigging and spar making. Depending on your commitment and time there is the opportunity to learn the skills of a fully fledged shipwright.

  It is a come as u are environment. If you prefer to cook and clean you can do that. If you want to learn how to be a boat builder then there is that and everything in between. From sanding and varnishing to cutting planks to plumbing and electrical. This ship yard is a wealth of knowledge that is extremely hard to find.

  To not sugar coat it we are in a boat that is under construction in a tent in a ship yard. The boat is quite spacious and there is separate sleeping quarters for crew. Also my first mate is the most lovely little pup named Karen. So dog lover’s only. 😌

  Located close to Vancouver there is no shortage of activities here. I also provide a small dinghy with a outboard if you want to explore the river that the boat is beside. Some cool little islands close by with sandy beaches that are a lovely escape.
