Hi, I'm Jean-Paul and I recently moved to Portugal from the Netherlands looking for a more sustainable way of living. My goal is to create a small permaculture farm, where people can stay, contribute and grow by learning new things and exchanging ideas. Living a balanced life with hard work and good fun.

In the area of Castelo Branco a growing number of people is interested in living more in tune with nature. There are weekly events to meet new people, watch a movie in a solar cinema, go for a swim in the Marateca lake. This is an ideal place to learn about off-grid living and permaculture.
Most of the work involves DYI construction with old pallets and working the land, but I also welcome people who love cooking healthy food for the team or people who are creative and want to make the place even more beautiful.
My aim is to host 3-4 people continuously.

On the land of 2,8 hectares there are multiple private places to set up a tent. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are at the central porch. There's a outhouse with a compost toilet and a simple shower.
The land is close to a little town called Freixial do Campo which is about 15 km from Castelo Branco. In case you want to fly, you'll have to take a 2-3 hour bus drive from either Lisbon or Porto to Castelo Branco. You'll be picked up from and brought back to the train station. But since it's a rural area, having a car makes it much more practical to see something of the region.
