    Description

Take care of our house and animals while we visit our family in Germany. We live close to the Caribbean beach in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. We have a dog and 2 cats who are like family members. Therefore we look for people who love and care for animals and who spend for sure every night at home. We live in our beautiful open house in a quit and save neighbourhood. We have a large garden with many fruit trees, herbs and other edible plants.

We wont be there during your stay but we can provide information and contacts depending on your interests. Beaches for snorkeling, surfing, Volleyball and internrational people are close by. There are places for horse riding, pottery, Yoga, dance and much more.

We have a bike, which is sold from workawayer to workawayer. We'd be happy to make the contact, so you canagree upon a price and exchange more tips and experiences. Some workawayers rent a motorbike. However, it is difficult to get up the mountain, so a good option is to leave the bike down on the main road, where the bike rental is, and walk up the mountain (20 minutes).

The way from us to the coastal road is about 20 minutes on foot and is partly hilly, with gravel and potholes. So it's not really suitable for a bike. But some workawayers buy a used bike and lock it down on the coastal road. It's very easy to get around there by bike.

You can snorkel, surf, sunbathe, play beach volleyball... there are also lots of juggling and street artists who are easy to get along with. You can connect with the indigenous people, take part in all kinds of ceremonies and go on tours to famous rafting rivers. You can drive to two national parks, Manzanillo and Cahuita, within 30 minutes.

You are going to take care of the animals and act as a housekeeper while we are gone. You will be sharing the livingspace, kitchen and bathroom with 2 other peolpe, who are going to rent a bedroom each. All bedrooms are outside of the house in a private cabin. In this arangement you will act as a speakingpartner, in case something needs to be solved. Of course, we will be in close contact and I will help out as much as I can if necessary. We love our animals and want them to be loved and taken care of. This means, beeing present every night, providing food to given times and interact in a loving way. A love for gardening would be an add on, but is not necessary.

You will have your own cabin, a place to sleep and a place to retreat to. There you will have a mattress with mosquito net. It is simple but really very nice. Our beautiful open house will be a shared space, as well as the huge garden, the bathroom and the kitchen. We provide three meals a day.

We have Starlink internet, which works pretty well. The power can go out occasionally, especially during heavy rain, but it's usually very stable, and when it does go out, it's usually restored fairly quickly. The cabin has a metal roof, which is quite noisy when it rains. Making phone calls might be difficult. But it rarely rains this heavily.
