    Description

    Hey good people,
We would love 1 or 2 people to come and give us a hand.
We are Alan and Lydia, a middle-aged couple being as self-sufficient as we can be. Solar power, rainwater, organic gardens, chickens, quail, 8 bee hives, 1 full grown dog and a pup. :)
It's time to start getting things done. Like gardening, building more chicken pens, harvesting honey, some fencing (not much) hanging a couple of gates and just general everyday things that keep it all ticking over.
We don't have any close neighbors, the closest is 1 km away, so it is quiet and peaceful, and we are in the middle of the Central Queensland Gemfields about 50 km West of Emerald, Qld. Our place is halfway between Sapphire and Rubyvale. There is gemstones in them there hills and we just might have to go and find some. Well try anyway.

The reason we are inviting people to stay with us is because we enjoy some company and really do want some help, and along the way we can teach you some interesting and useful skills. We are not slave drivers and don't want to work you until you drop. Look after us, and we can be very generous in looing after you. 3 or 4 hours in the cool of the morning and we are happy. Your help in the kitchen will be appreciated. If you don't know how, Lyd is a brilliant cook and is most happy to teach you.
We are meat eaters; we live where steak is grown. Vegetarians, you will have to help out. Vegans, perhaps not unless you do all of your own meals.

Initial stay is 3 - 4 days and if we get on well, we would like to have your company for 1 - 2 weeks.

There is a train, plane or bus to Emerald Qld where we will meet you and drive you the 60 km to our house.

Please read this next bit carefully.

We offer a clothing optional experience so if nudity offends you this may not be the place for you. You are welcome to have on as much or as little that you are comfortable with.

Apart from all that keeps us busy keeping our little patch productive we enjoy wildlife photography, specializing in birds. We have over 13,000 photos, mostly of birds, (we really have to delete some. BUT WHICH ONES :) ) and have photographed about 300 species. On this property we have identified 110 species. Bird watchers / photographers are most welcome. As long as you use a NIKON that is. :)

    Stay good people.
    Lyd and Al.

What would we like from you. Things like having a laugh, swapping stories, looking after the chickens, quail, walking the dogs with us morning and night, and of course gardening and yer, that also means the dreaded weeding sometimes, learning about the bees and harvesting some honey, but that's optional, we understand that some people and bees don't get along. There is some fencing to do, not much though, a couple of gates to hang. Alan's a Mr fixit and is always fixing or making something so stick with him and you might learn a trick or two. Lyd is an amazing cook so looking over her shoulder could have some yummy rewards. She's also the gardener, Al's not much good in that department.

There is a curtained off area on a closed in veranda containing a queen bed, own toilet, fan and lockable doors. In summer it is too hot to close it in. You will have all your meals with us.
