  Description

  Hello I'm a native English speaker and also speak French . I am retired and have spent the last 20 years living in Brittany France .
  in a large very old stone house in the middle of the countryside with a large garden. About 5 minutes by car / 25 minutes walking to nearest village with bar, post office, and bakery plus a limited bus service to nearest towns nearest of which is Rostrenen 9 km away .
  
  I have a large but gentle rescued dog of goodness knows what, breed, plus a couple of cats and a 3 goats.
  I was a teacher and ceramicist and am now retired, Before settling here I travelled a lot and lived in several countries.
  
  I lost half my house in a massive fire 3 years ago and although that side of the house has been rebuilt it needs decorating. The garden reverted to a wilderness whilst the house was empty so I also need that taming.

  As a retired teacher I am happy to help you with your English written and spokens and too teach some traditional English cooking.

  I need help with is mainly things like clearing the garden and keeping the nettles and brambles down , cutting the grass and if you are handy with a chain saw cutting up some dead trees for next years fire wood. I am trying to finish getting the house in order after a major fire, most of the basic renovation has already been finished but help is needed painting and decorating , possibly help sorting through a barn full of clutter.
  I expect volunteers to act as part of our family, help laying table and clearing dishes, cleaning up after themselves and helping where they can at mealtimes. if you would like to give me a break from cooking occasionally that would be wonderful!

  Hébergement

  I am offering a large private bedroom with a bathroom in the attics of my house and freedom to use the downstairs living room, free unlimited internet and TV.
  
  If you don't have a car there are two bikes to borrow with cycle paths along old railway tracks and country lanes nearby.
  
  Our nearest towns and villages are GOUAREC, a pretty village with restaurants, bars and footpaths along the Nantes Brest Canal as well as a small tourist train to Bon Repos. Rostrenen which has a busy Market on Tuesday mornings.
  
  I welcome all nationalities and gender, couples are also welcome.

  This area is renowned for its natural beauty and a fantastic place to explore or just relax and enjoy nature. It is great for walking, running and cycling. Its an hour from the coastal beaches but there are swimming beaches at Lac de Guerledain which is not far by car . We are quite near the Nantes Brest Canal and the area is beautiful for walking. In summer there are lots of local festivals going on and there are always plenty of places to explore.
  
  It is about 30 minutes walking distance to our local village, which has bars and a bakers shop and a small artisan market on Saturday mornings. Our nearest town, Rostrenen is 9km, has a weekly market, cinema ,shops ,bars and restaurants. I go into town once or twice a week and am happy to drop you off there if you want to go at the same time..
  
  The nearest train stations are Guingamp, Pontivy or Carhaix. There are buses to Plounevez Quintin from St Brieuc train station, which is about 45 minutes from us.. If you want to travel cheaply by coach look at Flixbus which stops at some nearby towns or blah blah car which is a covoiturage site whether members can get lifts all.over France at small costs.
