Help on my small sheep farm in the Westfjords, Iceland

  Description

  Hi! My name is Ástþór (52). I live on a small sheep farm at Rauðasandur, Westfjords - Iceland.
  I am paralyzed from a car accident 23 years ago and am in a wheelchair, but do everything I needs to do. I have 1 cats and 1 dogs living with me, as well as some 80 sheep to take care of. I am looking for someone to help me with taking care of the animals and some maintenance for the farm. No more than 2-3 hours per day is needed. Work is different during summer since the sheep spend the days roaming araound.
  Wages are paid by our local government, it is my right as a disabled person to have someone help me out with work. The government pays for 15 hours per week , The pay is about 2000ISK per hour after taxes.
  Our area is remote but perfect for someone who wants to try living at the end of the road. I am looking for someone willing to stay for at least a few months at a time. A good english skill is required.

  We could teach you some Icelandic as well as give you some traditional food to try out.

  The work does not require any specific skills. You might need to hammer some nails or screw some screws. There might be some heavy lifting but nothing more than any average person can handle. Maybe the most difficult part can be shoveling snow or some manure during winter.
