Description
We are looking for volunteers
We are a young French couple with two young and well-behaved children (aged 6 and 4) as well as 3 dogs. In the summer of 2019, we purchased a magnificent 16th-century castle in the Vexin Normand, close to Giverny. The property is conveniently located just 50 minutes from Paris by car or train. We are currently working on renovating the castle and its gardens to restore them to their former glory. I am a photographer, and my wife is an art director.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

By staying with us, you'll have the opportunity to reside in a castle with a rich 500-year history. Volunteers will have the chance to learn about the local and regional history of the castle, and we'll be delighted to share the extraordinary past of our home with you. According to legend, Queen Blanche de Castille used to stay in our castle when she visited the nearby abbey.
In addition to discovering life in a typical French village, you'll also experience the strong sense of community that exists here. Our home is located in the most beautiful part of the Vexin, and we're excited to show you the stunning surroundings.Aide « au pair »

Aide
During this summer, my main focus will be on renovating the house and tending to our 14-acre garden and meadows. We could use some help with these tasks, and no specific skills are required - just a willingness to assist and a practical mindset. We will be responsible for taking care of our hedges, woods, and orchards.
In addition, we plan to plant many vegetables ( not this year) and organize our lives to become as self-sufficient as possible. It would be helpful if you had some knowledge in woodworking, and we may also require assistance with masonry work. Furthermore, we will need help with meal preparation and babysitting.
If you enjoy old motors, you're in luck! We have a collection of motorcycles, tractors, and cars dating from the 1930s to the 1970s that we hope to restart.Langues

You will have your own bedroom within the castle, and we'll be delighted if you can assist with meal preparation using farm-fresh and locally-sourced organic products. We produce our own eggs, vegetables( not this year), fruits, and jams.
Regarding our home, please note that not everything is perfect yet. Although the beds are new and of premium quality, some areas of the house are still under renovation. In have an excellent internet connectivity.
If you enjoy spending time with kids, our sons Oscar and André are easygoing and happy children. You're welcome to spend time with them and get to know them better.Autres infos...
The castle is ideally located in Bus Saint Rémy, Upper Normandy, only 11km away from Claude Monet's famous house in Giverny and 75km from Paris. It's an excellent place for nature lovers to rest and socialize, and it's also the perfect starting point for many hikes in Normandy Vexin.
This rural region is known for its diverse landscapes, including forests, brooks, and green meadows. Visitors can explore the castles of Bizy, Villarceaux, La Roche Guyon, or Ambleville, each with its exceptional gardens, as well as visit abbeys and cathedrals in Vernon, Evreux, Rouen, and many unique museums.
We encourage you to explore our beautiful lands with our bikes.Informations complémentaires
