Looking for an individual or couple to keep our dogs company (you wouldn't need to walk them - just looking for someone to keep them company while I'm away on a trip :) We can only accept UK citizens, individuals with Settled/Pre-Settled status, or those holding a valid Youth Mobility Scheme visa. We cannot sponsor visas or accept volunteers on standard tourist visitor visas.
Would you like to stay in London, UK (Camden, NW1) in return for keeping our 5 tiny dogs company?
WHO WE ARE: I'm a law lecturer, and my 24 year old daughter is currently travelling.
HOUSE: We live in a beautiful, light, large, 3 bedroom house with garden in Camden, very close to Central London (minutes walk away from all public transport including tube, overground train, buses), a few minutes away from Kings Cross, St Pancras and Euston stations and a very short bus ride from Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Tottenham Court Road, Covent Garden etc).
INTERNET: We have unlimited, high speed fibre optic broadband (for video streaming etc) throughout the whole house and garden.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: We're looking for a dog friendly person or couple who can keep our dogs company from 10-14 June (but you're welcome to arrive earlier/stay later).

We live very close to Camden Market - a few minutes walk.
We also live very close to central London - the 29 bus stop is 1 minute from our house and takes you straight to Trafalgar Square (in about 15 mins when there is little traffic). London has amazing free museums (eg. National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, Tate Modern, Tate Britain etc) and cheap/fun things to do (exploring indoor and outdoor markets, second hand/charity shops, parks, architecture, theatre etc).
We also live extremely close to Kings Cross, St Pancras & Euston and close to other stations (eg. Marylebone, Paddington, Waterloo) from where you can get trains to explore the whole country.

Maria Paula is simply the best :) We've had some wonderful Workawayers, including some who I thought were the best ever, but it turns out that Maria Paula is absolutely the best of the best :) Incredibly easy to live with (to a truly unbelievable extent) she is endlessly tactful, sensitive, appreciative, kind and thoughtful. She has stayed with us… read more for 6 months, and it feels like 6 days. She is also extraordinarily hardworking, utterly honest and 100% reliable. You truly could not imagine a better Workawayer. You would be very lucky to have her - I only wish that she could stay with us indefinitely.

Natalia is the best Workawayer we've ever had - and we've had some amazingly good Workawayers :) The only reason Natalia isn't staying forever (from our point of view :) is because her visa is running out. She came on 30 August and was due to stay for about two weeks, but we've been lucky enough to have her stay for 6 months. She is kind, tactful,… read more wise, reliable, hardworking, honest, easygoing - a total pleasure to host in every way. She would be incredibly helpful for so many things - she was wonderful with our dogs but I'm sure that she would be equally good at looking after children/helping around the house/pretty much anything really. Natalia has obviously been a brilliant parent to her own (high achieving, happy and kind) adult son, and she is both intelligent and cultured (and speaks multiple languages, including English fluently). She has been so great, I don't know how we are going to cope without her. Any family/household would be really lucky to have her - our dogs are also going to be heartbroken when she leaves, I think one of them will need therapy!

I stayed with Isabel for almost a month in spring 2023 and to be honest, there are no words (or at least not in my vocabulary 😅) to describe how thankful I am. Isabel is truly one of the most kindest, open-hearted and caring people I've ever met. From the very beginning it felt like spending time with a close friend, we had very deep conversations… read more but also laughed a lot! Isabel did basically everything to make me feel comfortable and I really did! Even my vegan nutrition wasn’t a problem at all! You're gonna have a lovely room, your own bathroom, really nice food and also a bike if you want.
The dogs are truly amazing and easygoing, I loved our long walkies and miss these little guys soo much. They are such a bundle of joy! I had plenty of time for discovering London and also did some trips to Brighton and Cambridge - really had a great time and never gonna forget it! Isabel's home is very close to central London and with King's Cross being also very close, you're gonna have plenty of opportunities to leave London and discover Britain's beautiful landscape.
So Isabel, thank you so much for hosting me, I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to meet you and your little furry friends! I really miss you all and can't wait to see you soon!

Laissé par l'hôte pour le workawayer (Auriane)
Auriane stayed with us for a few weeks in December 2019, and was one of the sweetest, most considerate Workawayers that we have ever met. She became very good friends with my teenage daughter, and their laughter rang throughout the house. She is very easygoing, and lovely to live with. She was really flexible about what type of work she did, and… read more when she did it; and we really appreciated her kindness and thoughtfulness. Her written and spoken English is basically perfect, she is very cultured (she is particularly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about films), and she is clearly a very intelligent young woman. We loved her so much that we changed our plans to spend Christmas Day together - and have really missed her since she left. We very much hope that she comes back to London to stay with us again - we'd feel really lucky to have her back.

I spent 3 weeks with Isabel and Amalie in December and it was absolutely wonderful. I stayed with them because I wanted to improve my english and discover London. I helped Amalie to improve her French for two hours per day, and it was really a fun time. You'll be staying in a lively district of London (near Camden market and Regent's park) with… read more two wonderful women, very welcoming and so kind!! And you have a lot of bicycles free to use if you want to. Right from the beginning, Isabel always made sure that everything was perfect for me, she is the best host you could ever dream of!!! She came to pick me up at the station and dropped me back. She lended me an oyster card, and when my phone broke down she even lended me hers. I couldn't recommend you to come more. I miss everything from the time I stayed, it really was happy memories. It was my first workaday and it went beyond all my expectations!!
I already miss it :)

Flor stayed with us for 6 months, and was an absolutely incredible workawayer. She is extremely clever, easy-going, cheerful, and the wittiest person I have ever met. She speaks fluent English, and her help was invaluable: she did admin work (all of which was in English), some very useful academic research in both Spanish and English, translated… read more English to Spanish incredibly quickly and well, proofread my daughter's Spanish work with immense care, gave very good Spanish lessons - and took great care of our dogs! She was utterly reliable, unfailingly efficient and always ready to help throughout her entire stay. She is independent and self-sufficient, whilst also being bright, sparky, and the most wonderful company. We were extremely lucky to be able to get to know her - and will miss her terribly. I just hope she comes back!

I have been living with these wonderful women and these loving doggies for months now and I couldn’t ask for more fun and kindness.
We became friends immediately. Isabel is a great host, she showed me London, we went to the theater many times and cycled around a lot 🙂.
Isabel is a smart and funny woman. I learned so much just by sharing time with… read more her.
