Wow, where to start?! ;) I had a really great stay at Berit and Steinar's farm. First of all, the view is incredible, I had to blink often to make sure what I was seeing was right. Secondly, Berit and Steinar are really kind , fun and interesting people. Steinar explained me patiently how I had to feed the sheep and the chicken and made sure I

They are both proud of Norwegian tradition, so it was great to get to know more about sheep farming, traditional meals, some history of Hardanger etc. Thirdly, the food was delicious. I tasted home made jams, bread, hveteboller, reindeer sausage and goat meat. Finally, going on walks with Step did not feel like 'working' since the scenery is so beautiful and Step is a really nice and playful dog.
I will really miss this place and hope to be back one day in summer to see the lambs playing in the mountains.
Tusen takk!

Hello!
I was with Berit and Steinar from mid-May to mid-June. My stay was by far the best workaway experience that could have happened to me. From day one I felt like a part of the family.
Through Berit I learned a lot of new recipes, was able to tend to the garden in the beautiful May season and got a great introduction to dealing with the sheep
… read more and goats. I absolutely enjoyed feeding the lambs and sheep and taking them up the mountain - but also the regular walks with the dog Step in the morning and evening.
At Steinar I learned to make firewood, but also to mow the steep meadows with my own hands. Besides, how to make hay and clean and fill a silo. Steinar has always been a patient and talented teacher :-)
Lots of amazing and useful experiences everywhere!
Both of them try very hard and facilitate as much as possible so that you get to know the Norwegian culture and landscape. Thanks again for the frequent excursions (boat trip, overnight stay in Stavdal) and fantastic hiking tours !!! It was a lot of fun with you and Sunniva!
I can definitely recommend this farm to anyone who would like to visit the fjords, but also Bergen and the typical Norwegian life in the countryside.
I had one of the best times of my life with you and hope to be able to come back !!
Tusen takk to these incredibly loving, open-minded and hard-working people. You are so warm-hearted! I absolutely enthuse about you!
All the best for the future Berit, Steinar and Sunniva!!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

I stayed with Berit and Steinar for more than three weeks and it was an amazing experience! They are a really nice and kind family, always ready to explain and help me on what I had to do, always available to share time and food. They were really interested in giving me the possibility to enjoy the local culture and nature in the best possible
… read more way. I have been in Norway other times, but of course this is a unique way to immerge in Norwegian culture and farm life, thanks to Berit and Steinar.
The place is amazing, with great landscapes on fjords, easily reachable from Bergen. There are a lot of activities to do in this area, simply living the area around the house or moving along the fjord.
The work was challenging, I learnt a lot of new stuff, using new instruments and Steinar is a really good teacher, exactly what I desired from the experience. They asked me a normal routine in the farm (sheep, chickens and the dog), to take care of a field, like cutting the grass, and other smaller tasks.
With Berit I enjoyed more to take care of the house, and we liked to share different recipes in the kitchen.
I wish Berit and Steinar the best for the future, and I hope to meet them again!
In short, I highly suggest this host if you are interested in an experience in a Norwegian farm!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

I had such a great time at Berit and Steinar’s, I’ve stayed with them for a month and I’m truly grateful for this experience!
I mainly helped with the animals and some construction work at a cabin they’re renovating; these tasks were new for me and they patiently taught me many valuable skills, so it was really interesting! Apart from this, I

They took me on various trips (including ski and boat trip!) to explore the beautiful mountains around, and gave me suggestions about what to visit in my free time, making sure I was having a good time. I even met they’re families and felt very welcomed!
The location is ideal for everyone who loves nature, with stunning views just outside the windows. It’s also easy to reach Bergen, Voss and the towns nearby with public transport.
I strongly recommend this place, the hosts are energetic, fun and always ready to smile. I collected very good memories of walks in the forest overlooking the fjord, learning to take care of the sheep and cuddling Rasmus, chatting and exchanging stories, tasting Norwegian food, and so on!
Tusen takk Steinar og Berit, I wish you all the best for the future and I hope to meet you again!Laissé par l'hôte pour le workawayer (Sofia)

I stayed here for 2 weeks in November. It was a great experience overall! The location is beautiful, with lots of opportunities for hiking, swimming, and going on day trips in the region. Berit and Steinar are quite busy people and they have a lot of trust in their workawayers to work independently. They are very kind and do everything they can to

I stayed with Steinar and Berit for a little over a week and it was such a wonderful experience.
I felt very welcomed from the start. The sleeping arrangements were very comfortable and clean with a spacious room for both myself and one other workawayer.
Both hosts were very clear with expectations of work and I learned many valuable skills
… read more including: pouring concrete, making apple juice, working with power tools ect…
The working hours were reasonable and I had plenty of free time to explore the area which was beautiful and walking distance to multiple trails. Both hosts were very gracious and took myself and the other workawayer on hikes, boat rides and gave recommendations for further exploring.
I am very grateful for my time spent with Steinar and Berit and I would highly recommend them to any workawayer 😊Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.
