Description
We are Thea and Fergus, 25 and 27, from Norway and Ireland. Join us on a rustic mountain farmstead in Verma, Norway, just a stone's throw away from the famous Trollvegen and Trollstigen. Help with light house work, gardening, and fun small projects.
Do you dream of spending your days surrounded by mountains, rivers, and forests? Are you happiest when your hands are dirty, you´re outdoors all day in beautiful nature and you´ve built or grown something with pride?
We´re restoring a historic mountain farm (built in 1750) and turning it into a vibrant, sustainable home. Our mission is to revive the traditional Norwegian farm by preserving the old buildings, growing food, welcoming guests and reconnecting with nature.
We´re looking for hands-on, enthusiastic Workawayers to join our seasonal team and help bring this vision to life!

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
Travellers who come here will experience a genuine cultural exchange rooted in everyday life on a small Norwegian farmstead. Rather than just visiting, they’ll take part in meaningful, hands-on activities.
Through this, they can learn practical skills such as basic carpentry, working with natural materials, gardening, and self-sufficient living. Just as importantly, they’ll gain insight into Norwegian rural culture—how people live close to nature, value simplicity, and adapt to the changing seasons.
The exchange goes both ways. We're equally interested in learning from travellers—their skills, perspectives, and cultures. Shared meals, conversations, and collaboration are a big part of the experience, so it becomes less about “hosting” and more about creating something meaningful together.
By the end of their stay, travellers won’t just have seen Norway—they’ll have lived a small part of it, developed new skills, and hopefully left with a sense of connection to the place and its way of life.
We provide 2 meals per day and this could be breakfast and dinner for example :)

Autres infos...
The farm is located in a beautiful and peaceful mountain valley in Western Norway, with endless opportunities to explore nature right outside the door. In their time off, helpers can enjoy hiking in all directions—from gentle valley walks to more challenging mountain hikes with incredible views. The area is especially known for its dramatic landscapes and quiet, untouched nature.
There are also some well-known attractions nearby, including Trollveggen (Europe’s tallest vertical rock face) and the famous Trollstigen, one of Norway’s most spectacular scenic drives. The region is also great for photography, rock climbing, mountaineering, skiing, fishing, and simply enjoying the outdoors.
For transport, having your own car is definitely a big advantage and will give you much more freedom to explore the area. However, it is not a requirement. There is a train station about 15 minutes away, with connections to Oslo and Oslo Airport Gardermoen, making it possible to arrive by public transport. Pickup can usually be arranged from the station if planned in advance.
Overall, this is a great place for people who enjoy nature, quiet surroundings, and outdoor adventures, and who are happy living a bit more remotely for a while.
