【We are looking for someone who can help us during the following periods:
-July 14 to July 29(Applications from men are also welcome during this period.)
-From the beginning of October to the end of December】

Would you like to experience daily life with a Japanese family while spending time with a child and helping with simple household tasks?
If you love children, speak fluent English, and are curious about Japanese culture, we’d love to hear from you!

We hope our 5-year-old son can learn English naturally through fun interactions and daily conversation.
Since our English is limited, we’re looking for someone who is fluent and patient, and who enjoys communicating with others.
We hope to welcome someone who genuinely enjoys being with children and can be like a big sister to our son—someone who can care for him kindly and respectfully.

We are a family of three living in Kyoto:

・I’m a pharmacist, and I’ve done a homestay abroad. I’d love to share stories and cultural experiences with you!
・My husband enjoys video games and manga.
・Our 5-year-old son loves vehicles and animals.

--- We are looking for someone who:
・Is a woman who loves children and treats them with kindness and respect
・Speaks fluent English (C1 level or above)
    ・Is 22 years or older
    ・Is a non-smoker and non-drinker
・Is responsible, independent, polite, clean, well-organized, and punctual
・Is open-minded and enjoys cultural exchange

    --- What we offer:
・A private room in our home in Kyoto
    ・Japanese home-style meals
Please note that we cannot accommodate dietary restrictions.

    * We also welcome those who plan to attend a Japanese language school.
If you’d like to know about commuting time to school or want details about the schedule, please feel free to ask!

We’ll do our best to make sure your stay in Japan is as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
We’re looking forward to meeting someone kind, warm, and enthusiastic who will become part of our family, even if just for a short time .

    --- Notes:
    ・Only female applicants are accepted.
・We cannot host couples or families.

During your homestay in Kyoto, you’ll have the chance to experience the beauty of each season:
cherry blossoms in spring, fireworks and festivals in summer, colorful autumn leaves, and peaceful, snow-covered temples in winter.

You’ll also get to discover aspects of everyday life in a typical Japanese household, things you won’t find in any guidebook.

    -----About Helping
    - Taking care of our son and playing with him (Tuesday to Saturday)
Our son is energetic, curious, and full of life. He never seems to run out of energy, even after a full day of play!
He absolutely loves cars and trucks from all over the world.
He especially enjoys pretend play with his vehicles, riding his bicycle at the park, and chatting about what’s on his mind.

He also enjoys running, playing tag, and active games — it would be wonderful if you could join in and have fun together!
His favorite characters are Disney’s Chip & Dale and Nintendo’s Yoshi.
He is a big fan of Minecraft and often plays it on his Nintendo Switch.
If you have experience with Minecraft, it could be a fun way to engage with him during your stay.

He doesn’t tend to speak English to Japanese speakers, so it actually works well if you don’t speak Japanese or are still a beginner.
(If your Japanese is intermediate or higher, that’s completely fine too, of course!)
However, this may not be the best environment for intensive Japanese practice.
That said, if you’re ever curious or have questions about Japanese, I’ll be happy to help anytime!

    - Helping with light household tasks (Tuesday to Friday)
    Tasks include things like:
・Kitchen reset (cleaning and tidying up the kitchen)
    ・Vacuuming
・Mop the floor once or twice a week using a disposable floor wiper
    ・Folding laundry
・Cleaning any other dirty or messy areas

These tasks usually take around 30 -60 minutes per day and help us maintain a clean and comfortable space together.
There may also be other minor tasks or things that come up from time to time. We’d appreciate your help with those as well.

    - ----Days Off (Sunday and Monday)
You’re completely free to enjoy your days off however you’d like — overnight stays elsewhere are also okay!
We just kindly ask that you let us know in advance if you’ll be staying somewhere overnight, as we may get worried otherwise.

    ----- About Daily Life
-You are welcome to use any ingredients available in our fridge or pantry when cooking for yourself.
You’ll be responsible for preparing your own breakfast and lunch every day, as well as dinner on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays.

I (host mom) will cook dinner from Tuesday to Friday.
If there’s something specific you want to eat or if you have dietary preferences, you’re welcome to purchase those items for yourself.

-For your personal care (washing your clothes, cleaning your room, etc.), we ask that you take care of your own space respectfully:
    ・Keep your room tidy
・Wash and put away your own dishes
・Clean the shower drain after use

You’re welcome to use the washing machine, vacuum cleaner, and other appliances freely.

-Please make sure you have valid medical insurance during your stay in Japan in case of illness or injury.

    ----- About Your Free Time
The rest of your time is yours to enjoy — feel free to explore Kyoto, relax at home, or read a book.
Generally, you won’t have any duties in the mornings on weekdays.
(There may be occasional schedule adjustments during long kindergarten holidays or if we have unusual work hours.)

Our son goes to bed between 8:30 and 9:00 pm, so we kindly ask you to keep noise to a minimum after that.
Our general curfew is midnight (24:00).

    -----When Contacting Us
When you send your first message, it would be great if you could include the following:

    ・A short introduction about yourself
・What made you interested in Japan
・Your childcare experience (ages of children, gender, frequency and duration, etc.)

    -----Other Notes:
Please let us know when you’d like to start and how long you plan to stay.
(We ask for a minimum stay of 3 months.)

    * If you’re planning a long-term stay, it’s possible to take a 2–4 week holiday, as long as we arrange the timing in advance.
We’re happy to discuss details with you.
*We offer a trial period of 2 to 3 weeks to see how things go for both sides.
We appreciate your understanding and openness.

    Autres infos...

Our home is conveniently located with easy access to transportation, making it a practical choice for exploring the area.
We live in a safe and quiet residential neighborhood, where you'll find many temples and shrines nearby. Several world and cultural heritage sites are also easily accessible by train or bus.

Our home is a 10-minute walk from the station, and we can reach JR Kyoto Station or Keihan Gion-Shijo Station in about 20 minutes.
It takes 28 minutes by train from JR Kyoto Station to JR Osaka Station, so visiting Osaka is also very convenient.

We don't own a car, so our main means of transportation is public transport such as trains.
You won't need to drive a car here. If you enjoy riding bikes, that’s wonderful!
We often use bikes to go out and explore, so it’s a great way to enjoy the area.
