It was a pleasure to host Hanna. She has a very positive attitude, joined in with enthusiasm no matter what the task was, absorbed information quickly, and was genuinely interested and engaged. She took on painting, packing up and helping us move our production facility, harvesting pears, hauling and cutting wood, garden projects, all with a

My two week stay here was absolutely wonderful, the perfect beginning to a year in Germany!
Patrick, Wendy and Renate were not only exceptionally generous, but also very interesting people to get to know, and I loved all the conversations we had together. Renate was incredibly helpful in practising German with me, and we played lots of german

The work was varied and interesting: in addition to the apple and pear harvest, I was able to help with the process of pressing the fruit and filling the bottles, and Wendy and Patrick patiently explained the different stages that are involved in cider production. Other tasks included painting, shifting equipment, gardening and wood work.
Despite it being a very busy time, they made sure I wasn’t overworked and I had plenty of free time to explore the beautiful local forests. They let me borrow a bike, which was great to ride on the local cycle paths, and also gave me a lift to the local climbing centre. I was also taken to explore the nearby town with Renate, which was a really fun outing.
Sometimes I ate with Renate, sometimes with Patrick and Wendy, and sometimes we all ate together- no matter what, the food was always delicious, and they were incredible gracious with handling my dietary requirements. Renate even helped me bake a gluten free Marmorkuchen :)
All in all, I am incredibly grateful to my hosts for making the experience so wonderful, and hope to be able to visit again in future.
To Wendy and Patrick, I hope the rest of the harvest goes well! And thank you to all of you for your kindness and generosity, I will always remember my amazing experience, vielen Dank 😊

Thank you to Patrick and Wendy. I stayed with them for 5 weeks and was fortunate enough to learn a lot about cider. But it was not always about cider and working hard I had lot of free time and was able to take time off whenever I wanted to do a little trip. I really enjoyed staying them in their old barn house and eating everyday with them. Most
