Greta is a wonderful, thoughtful young person. She not only worked hard in the sweltering December heat but enjoined our household with great consideration and interest. We would welcome her back in a heartbeat m.

I definetly reccomend to stay with Russ and Rachel if you get the chance! They made me feel welcome from the first minute and although Rachel was very busy and had to go away with her work for a week, they made sure I had a great time during the 7 days I stayed with them. Russ was a great company, always ensuring I had everything I need and

Thanks again for the great experience and hope to come back sometime!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Thank you Jan / Gerrit!
Summer can be a difficult time to manage our property but your conscientious efforts have positioned us well for the rest of the year. Rachel and I really enjoyed our time together and hope your future travels are equally fun.

A big thank you to Javier and Sam for their unstinting work on our outdoor projects and the great contributions made to many dinners!
Kerry is a fun and engaged Workawayer who works like a Titan. She was as helpful inside the house as out on the property. 5 stars!
I Had such a great stay with Russ and Rach. They were super lovely and their property is beautiful. Lots of wildlife around and a very relaxed atmosphere. Loved it. THANKYOU!

Thanks guys for that great experience :) Work included whipper snipping, de-rocking and selective weed spraying. They are both very easy-going, interesting and enthusiastic about nature. I learned a lot in lots of different areas. The room was super cosy and had the nicest view with grazing wallabies. Could take lots of great wildlife pictures and

Chris and Hannah are a delightful couple who really helped us get stuff done despite it being a warm month. They were thoughtful and flexible and showed us a few things about our own wildlife by setting up a trap camera around our watering points. Highly recommend their company!

We had a really nice 6 day stay at Russ and Rachels they are both really friendly and generous and we would definitely recommend staying them! They make delicious food and are great to chat too, they have so much knowledge especially about the great barrier reef, corals and the wildlife around them it was really interesting to learn more! There
… read more are 2 room options both are comfy and they both want to make sure you are comfortable and happy.
The work is 4.5 hours a day and they allow you to manage the time so we liked to start a bit earlier so that we finished a bit earlier, they also often thought about us and offered options for jobs, normally with an option to get into the shade when it was getting hotter in the day. The jobs are quite varied and depend on what needs doing at the time, we did some weeding, cleaned the gutters, painted and set up bamboo fencing, cleared stones from the grass, raked leaves, trimmed plants, weeded, protected against termites, put an extra cable into the ground and removed debris from around the house that could cause a fire risk.
One of the amazing experiences with Russ and Rachels home is that you will see wallabies all the time on their property (they were outside our window every morning when we woke up and each evening) we also saw a Bandicoot, possums and loads of birds (sulphur and black cockatoos, Lorikeets, Blue faced honey eaters, dollar birds, sun birds, channel billed cuckoo and loads of other types) and some interesting frogs
Whilst we were only there for a short time they took us out to 2 locations the first was a walk around the local national park which was really nice were we saw a keelback snake and the second trip was a picnic at a really impressive location (We cant remember the name but it was a big rock in the mangroves which was really nice, on the way back we saw Brolga’s)
Russ and Rachel both really care about their workawayers so if you enjoy seeing wildlife, having interesting conversations, being in charge of your days and comfy rooms we would definitely recommend helping here!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Just want to say a big thank you to Lars. He was diligent and thoughtful and helped us in many ways during his stay. He is also a great example to us older folk of why the next generation is in good hands!

Rachel and Russel have been two wonderful hosts! I was given the chance to live and work on their beautiful property, which is just next to Mount Elliot national park. Staying with them resulted in some very interesting conversations, due to having similar views and their professions as scientists. Both are very welcoming, easy going and funny

The work I have been doing has been very enjoyable, they provided me with all the tools necessary and there where a number of projects all over the property. I wish you two a great time in New Guinea and lots of happy wallabies, which is of course the most important thing.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Rachel and Russell were absolutely great hosts. They were both kind, generous of their time and inspirational in their work and interests. I could not have asked for a better placement. I really enjoyed working on making the firebreak around the house, which gave lots of opportunities for watching the local wildlife - wallabies, brumbies, birds
… read more and insects. The scenery was beautiful, looking towards Mount Elliot, with the National Park just minutes away to walk in. High spots were cooking dinner in a hot-pot in the bonfire, hearing the green frogs starting to croak after the first rain and listening to the stone curlews crying in the night. Townsville is not too far away and has a very informative marine aquarium, two good swimming pools and friendly dinghy sailing club, so lots to do if you want to go there on days off.
Really an outstanding place to go on Workaway - thank you Rachel and Russell.
