  Description

  We have 2 sons ages 25 and 19 living at home with us. We live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. My husband and I are both teachers and our sons are in in university and working. We also have a dog, Levi who loves to go for walks and runs. We enjoy running, xc skiing, golfing and other sports and outdoor activities. Ottawa has lots of activities to enjoy such as skating on the canal (the largest outdoor skating rink in the world-7.8km), hiking in gatineau park close by which also has 200km of xc ski trails, several museums, parliament buildings, camping, many festivals and lots of snow to enjoy in the winter!

  English and French languages are spoken in Ottawa. They could learn about our government as we are the capitol of Canada and could visit our parliament buildings and many museums.

  Aide

  We are looking for a workaway that could help with painting several rooms in our house and odd jobs. Other jobs could be shoveling snow, taking our dog for a walk or possibly helping cook.

  Hébergement

  We have a spare bedroom with a double bed, desk and wardrobe. Guests would share the upstairs bathroom with my my husband and I. We would cook and eat dinner with them most nights and would love to try their cooking once in a while. We usually all help ourselves to our own breakfasts and lunches. We have a pool in the summer time and have a hot tub. We live in a quiet neighborhood only about 15 min from downtown. We live near a bus stop with easy access to downtown Ottawa.

  Autres infos...

  Gatineau park - in the fall there are buses specifically to see the fall colours. We go some Saturdays to run or xc ski so you would be welcome to go with us. We also have a cottage that we go to some weekends in Quebec.
  Rideau canal - skating, running or walking (close bus away or get a ride with my husband who works beside it). You can also rent kayaks or canoes to paddle on Dows lake.
  Byward Market - good food and entertainment downtown
  Parliament Buildings - tours, musical ride with the RCMP
  Montreal - only a 2h train ride from Ottawa
  Mont Tremblant - Larger down hill ski, biking, golfing, area 2 h away. We own a cottage near there, possibility of going with this there on a weekend.
