  Description

  We live in Golden, BC and have 40 acres of land. We hope to plant and keep an amazing garden about 1 acre big. That's where we need your help. I have two small children and three dogs so I'm pretty busy! Nearby there are lots of natural parks to explore and amazing nature! You'd likely want a vehicle to get around in.

  My husband and I both speak English and French. We have two young kids and are happy to share any of our knowledge running a homestead. My husband does land development work so could teach most anything about building. I'm a birth doula so know quite a lot about pregnancy, birth and infants. We attend church every weekend and would be happy to bring you with us. We could also show you around the Rocky Mountains as it fits with everyone's schedules! I've been meaning/wanting to learn different languages for years and we are always happy meeting new people.

  Aide

  We need someone to build and plant and maintain a large garden for us. I have very little experience hence why I'm looking for help. We would love easy thing such a potatoes and then more difficult things such as fruit trees. We would need to build some fencing if we do the fruit trees but the soil is already in place. We could use a good layer of compost and away we go! If you're a really good gardener, we would love to have you.
  
  There's always work around our place to do if you need to make up more hours. That could include childcare or light house duties like cleaning or making meals, or it could be something like building walking trails around our property. You would only be working in our private house and garden (not in any of the spaces used by paying guests - although you might bump into them in the parking lot!). In the fall we'll be staining our house again and maybe over-seeding our lawn- always something!

  Hébergement

  We have a camper trailer with a queen size mattress and a kitchenette available. There's no power or water to the camper yet but we're hoping to have that available this summer.
  We can share meals in our log home or outside when it's not super mosquito-y.

  Autres infos...

  We live about 15 minutes out from town and there's no transit or transportation around here. If you don't have a vehicle you would have to catch a ride with us in and out from town if you need anything. There's lots of nature to explore if you can find your way around or just hang out in our forest!
  
  My 3 year old is in daycare and forest school throughout the week and my 8 month old stays with me.
  
  We appreciate non-smokers and there's usually a fire ban on in the summers because of intense forest fires. Last year the mosquitos were terrible, and wasps, so hopefully this year won't be so bad.
  
  We have another few people who live and work on our property in trailers as well, so there are others around to hang out with. We also have a small campground so people come and go a lot if you're interested in meeting those people. We also have an airbnb but we don't usually interact much with those guests as they're usually out and about exploring the national parks!

  Right now there is no wifi at the camper, so you'd have to work near or in our house. We could set up a mosquito tent around a picnic table for you until we get wifi at the camper. You could do your gardening work anytime around your work.

  We have a new clearing set up for campers or motorhomes. It's close to power and near another worker on our property. There's an outhouse in our campground if you need it.

  We have three dogs and two of them are outdoor dogs. They roam our property freely so we don't accept cats or other small animals that they might attack. We are more than happy to have dogs come and stay if they get along well with the pack!
