    Description

We are a married couple with two boys, aged 11 and 6, and we live in a beautiful Ibiza-style house in a peaceful residential area near Sitges. Our home is set on a small hill surrounded by greenery, around ten minutes by car from the Mediterranean coast.

We are a warm, active and internationally minded family. We love nature, healthy living, good food, exercise and spending quality time together. We particularly value our family dinners, when we can slow down, talk about our day and enjoy being together.

Having spent many years travelling and working internationally, we enjoy meeting people from different countries and learning about their cultures, traditions and perspectives. We would love to welcome someone who is warm, responsible, positive and genuinely interested in becoming part of our daily family life while also enjoying her own independence.

Our children are energetic, curious and used to an active family environment. We hope to welcome someone who enjoys spending time with children and can speak English with them naturally through games, conversations and everyday activities.

We see hosting a Workawayer as much more than receiving help: we want it to be a meaningful cultural and human exchange for everyone.

We would like our Workawayer to feel genuinely welcomed into our family life, rather than simply being someone who stays in our home.

We are a warm and active Spanish family with two boys, aged 11 and 6. Sharing dinner together is an important part of our family routine, as it gives us a moment to slow down, talk about our day, laugh and connect. We would love our Workawayer to join us for family dinners and feel included in these everyday moments.

One of the main parts of our cultural exchange will be language. We would like our Workawayer to speak English naturally with our children through conversations, games and everyday activities, helping them become more confident and comfortable using the language. In return, she will be able to practise Spanish with us in a relaxed and supportive environment. We will be happy to help her improve, explain expressions and introduce her to the way Spanish is spoken in daily life.

We live near Sitges, one of the most beautiful and picturesque areas on the Barcelona coast, driving distance from beautiful Barcelona City. During her stay, our Workawayer will have the opportunity to experience Mediterranean life, explore the beaches and coastal towns, discover local traditions and gastronomy, and also enjoy the culture and energy of Barcelona. We will be happy to recommend places to visit and, whenever possible, include her in family walks, outings, celebrations and local experiences.

Our family has spent many years travelling and working internationally, so meeting people from different countries has always been a meaningful part of our lives. Depending on her interests, we can share our experiences of Spanish culture, family life, travel, creativity, communication, entrepreneurship and life on stage.

We also hope to learn from her. We would love her to share her culture, traditions, language, music, favourite recipes, experiences and way of seeing the world. We believe this can be particularly enriching for our children, helping them develop curiosity, confidence in English and a more international perspective.

Our home is a lovely Ibiza-style house in a peaceful residential area with views of the surrounding greenery. We have a swimming pool, a table-tennis table and table football, offering plenty of opportunities to relax, have fun and enjoy time together.

We also have four chickens and enjoy collecting and eating their freshly laid eggs. It is a small but special part of our daily routine and brings a touch of nature and country life to our home.

At the same time, we understand that a positive experience requires a balance between connection and independence. She will be warmly invited to take part in our family life while also having privacy and enough free time to explore the area, meet new people and enjoy her own experience in Spain.

Our aim is to create a warm, respectful and reciprocal exchange in which everyone contributes, learns and feels comfortable—and hopefully forms a connection that lasts beyond the stay.

We are looking for a responsible, warm and proactive person who would be happy to become part of our family routine and help us with some practical aspects of daily life.

The main help we are looking for includes:

    - Preparing dinner for the family around three evenings per week. We'll be glad to help with the recepies and the ingredientes, so to make this fun and easy.
    - Driving our children to school three or four mornings per week. The school is approximately 20 minutes from our home, so a valid driving licence and confidence driving are essential. A family car will be provided for the school journeys.
    - Spending time with our children through play, conversations and some of their daily routines, communicating with them naturally in English so they can become more confident using the language.
    - Occasionally helping with simple household tasks as part of normal shared family life.

(A valid driving licence and confidence driving are essential. Before confirming the stay, we will need to verify that your drivers licence is valid in Spain and meets the requirements of our car insurance.)

We are not looking for formal English lessons. We would like our children to practise through real interaction—playing, talking, reading, cooking or doing everyday activities together.

The exact schedule will be discussed and agreed in advance so that expectations are clear and our Workawayer can organise her own free time. The exchange will involve a maximum of 25 hours of help per week, spread over five days, with two days off.

Our native language is Spanish, and we would be happy to help you practise it through everyday conversations and family life. Vanessa also speaks English, Catalan, Italian and Portuguese, while Elias speaks English and French. Our children speak Spanish, some Catalan and are currently learning English, so we would love them to practise it naturally with you through conversations, games and daily activities. We are also interested in learning about your language, expressions and culture. We see this as a relaxed and reciprocal language exchange, where everyone can learn from one another—no formal lessons, just real communication as part of everyday family life.

Our home is a spacious and bright 300 m² Ibiza-style house in a peaceful residential area surrounded by greenery.

The house has five bedrooms, two full bathrooms and one additional toilet. For her personal space our Workawayer will have her own private bedroom on the upper floor. On that floor she will have access to a full bathroom and a small upstairs lounge.

The bathroom and lounge are not private, but our family spends most of its time on the main floor and we don't use these upstairs spaces so much, so in practice she will enjoy a high degree of privacy and have a quiet area where she can relax or work.

The house also has a front patio, a balcony with lovely views of the surrounding greenery, a swimming pool and a large recreation room with table tennis, table football, a chill-out area and even a boxing bag.

It is a peaceful and comfortable home with plenty of space to enjoy both family life and personal time. We want our Workawayer to feel completely at home while also having her own space and independence.

Food will be provided throughout the entire stay, including on days off. Our Workawayer will have access to three meals a day, or to all the ingredients needed to prepare them.

She will always be welcome to eat with us and share our family meals whenever she wishes. In particular, we enjoy having dinner together as a family and would love her to join us, as this is an important moment for conversation, connection and cultural exchange.

She will also have full access to the kitchen and to the food and ingredients available at home, just like any other member of the family. If she prefers to prepare her own meal, has different plans or needs to eat at another time, she will be completely free to do so.

We are happy to chat about any dietary preferences, requirements or allergies before the stay so that we can try to accommodate. We would also love to exchange recipes and occasionally cook dishes from our different cultures together.

In her free time, our Workawayer can enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Sitges and the Barcelona coast, including beaches, coastal walks, picturesque towns, cafés, restaurants and the lively cultural atmosphere of the area. Barcelona is also an excellent option for day trips, with its architecture, museums, shopping, nightlife and international community.

Our home is located in a peaceful residential area surrounded by greenery, outside the town centre. It is an ideal setting for someone who enjoys nature, tranquillity and having space to relax. However, a car is needed to move around the local area conveniently.

Our Workawayer will be able to use a family car during her free time when it is available. As it is a shared car, we will need to coordinate its use together. For trips to Barcelona, public transport is the easiest and most convenient option, and we can take her to the train station so she can travel into the city independently.

(A valid driving licence and confidence driving are essential. Before confirming the stay, please let us check that your driving licence is valid in Spain and meets the requirements of our car insurance.)

We value a clean, tidy and respectful home. We expect everyone to take care of their own space and help keep the shared areas pleasant, just as any other member of the family would. Smoking is not permitted inside the house.

We are looking for someone who will enjoy a balance between sharing family life and having the freedom and independence to explore the area and make the most of her time in Spain.

    Possibilité d’accueillir les digital nomads

Digital nomads are very welcome. We have a reliable high-speed Wi-Fi connection suitable for remote work and video calls. Elias works online from home, delivering his mentoring sessions by video call, so the connection is regularly used for professional purposes. Our Workawayer will have quiet spaces where she can work comfortably, either in her own bedroom or upstairs. The peaceful surroundings and views of greenery also make our home a pleasant place to combine remote work with family life and time near the Mediterranean coast. We only ask that her remote working schedule is compatible with the hours previously agreed for the Workaway exchange.
