Description
My name is Joaquín, and I’m a ski instructor with a deep passion for the mountains. I have three wonderful daughters—Victoria (24), Sofía (22), and Francisca (19).
I am also the proud owner of Powder South Heli-Ski Guides, a company dedicated to heli-skiing, combining my love for skiing with my entrepreneurial spirit.
Our family’s new home is located in a beautiful and comfortable area called El Arrayán, at the foothills of the mountains near Santiago. It’s a truly special place, complete with a lovely swimming pool, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings.
We’ve recently reopened as WorkAway hosts and are still adjusting to the enrollment process, but we’re doing our best! There’s always plenty to do, from gardening and general house maintenance to housekeeping, cooking, painting, and even helping at Powder South if your skills align.
We have space for one (1) guest at a time and offer good accommodation, healthy meals, and a genuinely welcoming environment. Joining us means you’ll also get to meet Uli, our big, friendly Saint Bernard, who’s a beloved member of the family.
The general duties at home include daily tasks such as garden upkeep, housekeeping, and maintenance projects like painting or fixing things. However, one of the most important aspects of this experience is building a strong and respectful relationship with my family. It’s essential that everyone—my daughters, myself, and our guest—feels comfortable, and that we maintain a positive and enriching family dynamic.
We truly value meaningful interactions and are proud supporters of WorkAway and its mission. Most of the time, we’ve been fortunate to achieve our goal of creating a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

Volunteers would be next to all Santiago cultural & entertainment possibility, also with straight access to all ski areas from home, as it is a regular bus stop and only way in-out to reach the ski areas. During the hight winter season, volunteers need to stay at least 1 month during June, July, August & September.
