Laurien and Guus took us in after we'd encountered an host cancellation, and even though we could only stay for 2 weeks (minimum requirement is a month). We met them at the Matfestival in Bergen and helped close up and pack. Then we spent two wonderful weeks helping preparing the raspberries plants for the next season (picking weeds and cutting
… read more the old plants), picking berries and fruits, helping in the garden, as well as for the packaging of the cheese they sell in markets around Norway. Guus introduced us to bees to collect honey from the hieves.
We stayed at the Schulen (one of the two guest houses) and shared some meals together... and some good laughs ;-)
They provided with bread and cereals for breakfast, milch and yogurt, and everything needed.
We would work 4 days a week, full days, so to have 3 days weekend to explore the marvelous countryside.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Thanks ever so much Guus and Laurien for hosting me this summer - I had such a lovely time working on the farm and learning about life in Norway. Feios is such a lovely rural village and has great walks when you have spare time. The ice cream and honey you make is so lovely, I wish I could have taken home some Brown Cheese Ice-Cream (definitely my

I wish you all the best for the future and I hope to visit Norway again
I definitely recommend anyone to stay with Guus and Laurien

Thank you Guus and Laurien for this pleasant month with you. I felt really welcomed in your farm, it is such a comfortable surrounding.
Breakfast at 8h30 and working till 17h30, you have free time during the evening and 3 days off per week : it was perfect to see the countryside, the fjords, mountain tops and to be a little bit by yourself.
Thank
… read more you also for the nice activities I did during those days : I had the chance to go horse riding, kayaking, hiking. A farm with a lot of things to do around, what a wonderfull and dynamic place to live !
The work is quite various, helping in the ice cream production room, picking raspberry, delivering ice cream...
Alm Gard is a nice place. Sharing culture, stories and tips during lunch or diner was also something great to do with you.
It was really pleasant also to have direct contacts with clients and customers during the markets, where the atmosphere is very friendly.
This farm has a lot of engagement and values about respect of the nature. I really think this is a nice way to produce the best ice creams I ever tasted : How can I choose my favorite between raspberry, vanilla, chocolate, blueberry, capuccino and haselnutt ?
I wish you the best for your new projects and for your company

So it took me a while to figure out wether I should leave a feedback or not.
After completing four more workaways in different countries I decided that I should.
This place is beautiful and Guus and Laurien are very hard working people.
Unfortunately my stay with them was overshadowed by some personal differences. I am not sure if it had to
… read more do with the fact that I am vegetarian or that sometimes personalities just don’t match. Because you are spending most of your day at the farm though, Breakfast at 8.00 or 8.30 and then till dinner around 18.00, it is not so nice if you don’t really feel welcome.
The work is really varied, you help some days with ice cream production and the other days you just help with whatever needs to be done on the farm.
The ice cream markets are fun and I enjoyed working with Guus.
Maybe for other people this can be a great place but unfortunately it wasn’t for me.Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Dear Guus and Laurien,
I am so sorry that it took me so long for the feedback >.<
It was so sad for me to leave that day since I already felt in love with the Sognefjord with the sea and the mountains, the woods and the rivers even in sunny or gloomy days.
Your ice-cream were wonderful ;) as sweet and lovely as you are :)
Your dream, Alm gard,

Thank you for having me in your farm, in your family, and for everything :)
I will miss you so much and will try my best to be back one day :)
Good luck with all the plans and take care,
