    Description

We are a family of four – two adults, two children (1 and 8 years old), and a friendly dog – living on a charming small farm in the beautiful Norwegian countryside. We love to travel and are now opening our home to those who want to experience Norwegian nature, culture, and family life.

We live on a small farm with several buildings, including a newly renovated barn and with a ceramics workshop. Currently, the only animal we have is our dog, but we have exciting plans for the farm, including building a greenhouse – a project you can help us bring to life!

    Accommodation:
You will stay in our cozy guesthouse, which has everything you need: a small loft bedroom, a comfortable living room and kitchen, and a bathroom. Please note that the stairs to the loft are steep, and the house is not soundproof between floors, so it’s best suited for someone comfortable with these conditions. Some evenings, we’ll share dinner together in the main house, but otherwise, you’ll have access to a fully stocked fridge in the guesthouse for your meals.

    What we offer:
    • Free food and accommodation in a cozy guesthouse
    • Access to our ceramics and porcelain workshop to try your hand at crafting
    • Free bicycles to explore the beautiful surrounding area
    • Stunning nature right outside our doorstep, with canoe rentals available nearby
    • Easy access to the town of Sandnes by bus – from there, you can travel to Stavanger, the Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen), and other iconic Norwegian attractions

    What to expect from us:
We both work full-time, and the children are at school and daycare during the day. We are flexible and happy to create a balance of work and exploration that works for both sides.

    Extra perks:
If you’re interested in learning about Norwegian culture, language, or traditions, we’re happy to share!

    Interested?
Send us a message and tell us a little about yourself – who you are, your experiences, and what you hope to gain from your stay. We look forward to hearing from you!

    • Nature and Outdoor Activities: Discover Norway’s incredible natural beauty right outside our door. You’ll have access to bikes for exploring the area and can venture out to nearby attractions like the Pulpit Rock, or nearby mountains.

    • Crafts and Creativity: Explore your artistic side in our ceramics and porcelain workshop, where you can try out pottery, we have recently started this craft making - so either you learn with us, or you teach us.

    • Language and Culture: While we speak English, you’ll have the chance to practice basic Norwegian if you’d like, and we’re happy to teach you some everyday phrases and cultural insights. You’ll also learn about local traditions, holidays, and customs that make Norwegian culture unique.

    • Seasonal Highlights: Depending on the time of year, you might experience berry picking, mushroom foraging, or preparing for Norwegian seasonal festivities like Christmas or Easter. These traditions are an integral part of Norwegian culture and a wonderful way to engage with the local way of life.
