Waoo, what luck or shall I say, destiny that my Workawaying was at Laura and Giacomo's. They are absolutely kind, generous and wonderful hosts who offered an "exceptional" work exchange with total independence and trust.
I basically had a whole house and villas to myself. To compensate
… read more for the rural set up, I had a car at my disposal for the weekly grocery needs. I also had plenty of time to explore the area. I even got to have my son over from for a quick one week which was really a special thing for them to do. I am highly appreciative of this kind gest on their part and I am forever grateful!! We have become most of all a lasting family.
Having this opportunity to experience life in beautiful Tuscana 'presque' farm close to nature, to bond and enjoy all around me was magical. I am feeling and thinking it is going to be tough to equalise this special new found "parenti" of mine. ...... Simply excellent. I could go on and on but I will stop and simply say ......... From the bottom of my heart - thank you Laura and Giacomo ..... and of course the whole of the extended family - starting from my utmost very sweet little ones - Miro, and Mathilda whom I miss very much....... to Elisabeta, Giovani - and not forgetting 'Boss" the dog.

I stayed for 2 weeks at this beautiful villa with Laura and Giacomo, Miro and Matilda's family and it was an incredible experience. In addition to helping with garden maintenance, I learned new skills with Laura. She is an incredible woman, very willing, lively, creative and inspiring. This was my first workaway experience, and it couldn’t have been better. I was so lucky staying with this amazing family.
I stayed in the villa for one month (September). Toscana is a magical place (doesn’t matter how much you see photos, in reality it is much much more charming)!

They are very interesting and curious, open to talk and to share, I so enjoyed our conversations. They were very flexible making my experience go smoothly..
As soon as I arrived I felt as a member of the family. I’ve got the chance to meet and to spend great quality time with their people too, including the lovable grands (Giacomo’s and Laura’s parents), they were very kind and inspiring people to learn from.
Yes.. honestly I was lucky :)
Besides living the Italian culture closely as a local, Laura’s family came from Finland to the villa, it was a great opportunity for me to be open to the Finnish culture too! (And Wow!)
I did babysitting, some gardening and other maintenance tasks..
the tasks were responsible and enjoyable at the same time!
Dealing with the land and watering the plants was something new for me, it was for body and soul, a peaceful moments.
Miro and Matilda are adorable kids, they spread a good energy around. It’s impossible not to fall in love with Matilda and her smile.
The daily schedule was clear and comfort, two days off by my choice, they were flexible (I used them to travel around Toscana)..
Laura and Giacomo always asked if I needed something, and they cared that I feel comfortable in my stay.
I can tell that I have new friends :)
