    Description

Come and experience community living, surrounded by farm land and endless pristine forests, off grid living in owner buit mud brick houses, help with renovations or longer term nanny position.
    It's Autumn!

A beautiful time to visit us at our co-operative community. One of the longest running communities in Australia. On top of our own mountain we are 1 1/2hrs drive from the center of Melbourne, we have a beautiful community of nearly 30 homes on 600 acres above the Yarra Valley where there are countless wineries , markets, cycling, hiking, fishing and swimming opportunities- even snow for tobogganing in winter!

I am a single parent with three children 5, 3 and 18 months, chooks, and a milking goat.

I have been renting on the community with my kids for almost 2years now in a 4bedroom mud brick home full of quirks and character.

I have just bought a (different) house up here on the mountain and I am renovating as much as I can before we move into it (hopefully by July). We eat mostly organic/ biodynamic wholesome food.

Accommodation is a simple, warm spare room in house with double bed. Our house and the whole community is completely off grid, you have to light the fire for heat and hot water, solar power, tank water, we have no television or wifi and only optus mobile reception. I do have plenty of books!

We are looking for someone who is EASY GOING, independent, happy to live in a busy house with 3 young kids and HELPFUL.

Our last helper couple loved it so much here they came for two weeks and stayed for over 3 months! They became great friends and part of the family.

Look forward to hearing from you

  • Aide

    Aide

I am looking for a longer term nanny type for day to day household tasks and help with the children.
I would also like help with:

Renovations...plastering, plumbing, painting, rendering-helping us to move into our new mud brick house here on the community once renovations are done.

    Planting our veggie patch

Various community workdays and events, gardening, firewood, preparing for the fire season, numerous odd jobs...

Skills in carpentry, plastering, painting, fencing all a bonus but we can learn together!.....there is plenty to do! Hours and inclusion of meals can be negotiated and flexible.

There is also the opportunity to meet and help other community members.
