Description
Open in 2012 in the center of the lovely fishing village and surfing Meca of Ericeira. The hostel is set in a fully recovered 1933 typical house with a big garden. It is the biggest and one of the best located hostels in Ericeira and works as a Surf camp as well.
It's with great honor that we get hundreds of applications from worldwide workawayers but also for that reason we are unable to reply to everyone. Please note that we read and save all applications. So, in case you don't hear back from us please don't get us wrong. We might get back to you a later time or your application was not chosen.

We don't rent rooms or sell surf lessons here. We provide experiences and happiness. You will be integrated in a team that has this motto. You will meet hundreds of people around here and eventually make long lasting friendships and connections.

DUTIES:
Being kind, available and welcoming to our guests is our trademark.
Receiving everyone with a smile, integrating newly arrived guests, calling the guests by their name, making them feel at home, being interactive, friendly, polite, caring about our guests needs and well being, providing them with local information such as directions, supermarkets, restaurants, events, etc are all part of the deal.
Being professional and respectful of the guests privacy and individual needs are on the other hand common sense requirements.
Also get along with your co workers while on duty, the vibe is great around here and it is even more fun when we do it as a team!
Standard work throughout the season is basic cleaning, basic gardening, reception work, looking after the house in general, setting up the Friday evening photo slide show in the bar, helping on Wednesday's night barbecue, take surf photos/video of the guests and specially hang out and around with guests.
Resident helpers are responsible to train on their working shifts newly arrived helpers
Promote and invite guests to participate in our weekly events.
March, April and October are mellow months therefore tasks such as renovations, maintenance and gardening might happen within the working schedule.
We provide a wage based on the national minimum wage calculated for the work load we ask for based on the current Portuguese legal terms.
HELP LOAD:
We ask for a maximum of 26h/week during 40 to 50 days stays.
Work schedules will be defined on your arrival at the latest.
We provide at least 3 days off per week.
Newly arrived helpers will have 2 shifts training out of their normal shifts with a resident helpers

Hébergement
The host will provide accommodation in a 2 bed shared room with approximately 12m2 with shared bathroom and access to the communal kitchen.

Lot's of surfing and nature around here to explore.
Also Sintra and Lisbon are easily accessible by Bus that stops at our front door.
We have a very chilled vibe here but also professional. Work is easy and you can expect everything clearly defined regarding working schedules and in terms of "to dos" and "not to dos". We have plenty of returning helpers and even guests that realize that it is cooler to work with us than to be a guest!! We hope the same happens with you.
