    Description

We are a Kyrgyz family, who have a camp of yurts just outside of Karakol, the capital of hikers in Kyrgyzstan. We have four kids (two daughters and two sons). We have two accommodations - in winter we live in Karakol proper, while we move to a yurt camp on April to receive guests. Our camp is located in the Karakol valley, 15 minutes from the city center - but there is no sound of it - only mountains, the sun and animals!

We can offer you traditional Kyrgyz food 3 times per day in our family yurt, where you will enjoy natural food with our family. We can teach you about the traditional Kyrgyz way of life - there are "toys" (traditional Kyrgyz festivities) happening in both our territory and in the wider Karakol valley - we can invite you to participate whenever there is an opportunity. We can also introduce you to other Kyrgyz customs: horseriding, eagle hunting, yurt building, cooking traditional Kyrgyz food etc. We hope that in exchange the Workawayer could improve our level of English language, our kids are desperate to learn!

We are expanding our yurt camp, and will be improving on our facilities from March 2023 onwards. We are looking for a person who can
    - Teach English to our kids, and preferably has at least a base knowledge of Russian/Kyrgyz
    - Take good pictures/videos of our camp and the surrounding area to expand our Instagram presence
    - Can give us a hand in building a bio-toilet, as well as installing other items around the camp.

Our English is not perfect, and we especially would like our kids to learn it. We can teach you Kyrgyz and Russian languages in exchange.

  • Hébergement

    Hébergement

Until April, a volunteer would be living with us in our house in Karakol proper, since it will be too cold in the mountains. We are moving to the camp in April, and since then we can offer you a personal yurt, with a view to the snowy peaks of the Tianshan. You won't find a prettier valley in all of Kyrgyzstan.
