Description
We are a playful 4 person family living in Gloucester city uk. My name is Sorrel and my partners name is Mini, both women, we are queer identifying and our sons are Osian, who is 11 and Bennu who is 5. We are unschoolers meaning that Osian and Bennu don't go to school and we don't 'teach' them formally in any way that they don't ask, they learn through living life, exploring their interests and play. We are at home a fair amount of the time, and the TV or a device is always on and in use so you MUST be comfortable with high tech use. I am a community choir leader and my partner is a garden designer, both working largely from home. We have a homely home that is never quite tidy but always fairly clean and is well used as a playing space!
We don't have any 'rules' in our home but often help our children understand what is and isn't socially acceptable, they are learning all the time and we don't expect them to have it all together yet, we let them be children and help them navigate the world.
Osian has some social and emotional challenges that we think are related to autism/adhd, this means he can seem 'rude' to those who don't understand him. He is a wonderful kid, but he gets angry and upset very easily, though he calms down just as quickly if given space to do so, he is won over by talking about his interests and through food. Bennu is shy at first but will be your best friend very quickly if you listen to him and play with him.
Mini and I are both trying to build our careers alongside unschooling and keeping a house and we'd love to meet creative people, especially amazing if you have digital skills, websites etc.
Bennu has a whole host of things he can't eat due to eczema and we dont really eat pulses and I try to stay off wheat. I eat something near a paleo diet so this includes a good deal of meat. Osian loves lasagne and chicken curry, so if you can cook those that would be a bonus.
We love when people can just get stuck in and manage their own needs well, we are very honest open people and it helps if you are too, if you're hungry, grab anything from our cupboards, if you're cold, tell us so we can get you a blanket etc.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

This would be great for someone interested in alternative child centred education practices. Unschooling is a very interesting life style/philosophy and I love to share the knowledge I have about children and the natural learning process. I am also a singing facilitator and run choirs, and you could come with me to my choirs to sing, so that could be fun for someone. Mini is a trained horticulturalist and garden designer, so knows a lot about plants and gardening/growing veg.

This is very much a family home, its not a big space and we use it well. We would want someone who is very relaxed and friendly, and able to be pretty self sufficient. We would like help with cooking and cleaning, and also a playmate for our boys, we want people who are genuinely enthused to PLAY with our kids.
Osian 11 is into video gaming, building, lego, board games, and discovering new things. He has some social emotional differences but loves to meet new people. Someone who loves board games would be fab. Bennu 4 is into his tablet games, board games, chess, and playing make believe with his toys, he loves teddy bear tea parties.
Essentially we are looking for a helpful friend for up to 2 weeks who can help us catch up with life and support us to give the children interesting experiences.
The help will include:
Washing up and general cleaning.
Following the lead of our 2 children in play Including watching tv/films and gaming with them.
Cooking and preparing food.
Other household projects as the workawayer feels comfortable.Langues

My kids and I love to learn about languages, we only speak English but we dabble in all and every language we come across. My 11 yo is currently having fun with Klingon on duolingo.Hébergement
We live in the sleepy English city of Gloucester, a place rich in cultural heritage and absolutely beautiful ancient buildings. The countryside around the city is just stunning and there are lovely walks a short car journey away. There is a historic docks, which hosts some wonderful markets and festivals, and lots of places to get out on the water if you want to.
We have a big comfortable sofa bed, that can accommodate 2 people, and a single bed in my eldest's room as he mostly sleeps in the parents room. This is in the main living area so there won't be any lie ins/best if you are an early bird. We live a short walk from the bus route to Glos centre and Cheltenham and A nearby bus route to Stroud.
We are a short train journey from Bristol, a large bustling and exciting city.Autres infos...
Gloucester has a rich history, with lots of beautiful historical buildings and stunning countryside a short drive away. The bus routes are good from where we are and we have plenty of shops. We may be able to vehicle share with the workawayer, depending on the situation.
