  Description

  I used to volunteer, it is actually how I came to become a permanent resident of this lovely island I now live on. I want to open that door for other's upon their journeys as well. My partner and myself both work and live on Galiano. I am a landscaper, my partner is in senior care. My friends use this site with great success to get help for projects they have. Occasionally I need help with the property upkeep where I live so I thought of checking this process out too for myself. We are a gay 420 friendly household (We do not drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes/tabacco) so you need to be cool with that. if you smoke tobacco or cigarettes it must be outside on the deck or lawn/garden only, no indoor use. You get a clean room to stay in for a week if we find we are a good match for current projects. I can cook pretty much anything and we eat really well so you will too! You must like electronic music or this won't work! We prefer to host experienced people who are over 30, thank you.

  Galiano is paradise, we want to share its beauty with you by giving you a chance to experience it! The southern tip of Vancouver Island (including Victoria and Langford), the San Juan, and the Gulf Islands are the traditional territories of the Lkwungen (Lekwungen) peoples. Galiano Island lies within the traditional territories of Penelakut, Hwlitsum, and Tsawwassen First Nations, and of other Hul’qumi’num-speaking peoples, on whose land we are guests. Home to incredible nature, we welcome people from all around the world who wish to share their knowledge and experiences with us. This is also a great opportunity to discover how similar we all are as humans, as well as how unique we are as individuals.

  Aide

  I will expect a maximum of 4 hours of good labour each day for 4-5 of the 7 days you get to be with us in exchange for staying with us. The help involved is eco based, mostly getting rid of invasive species, while I can teach you about our local natural environment and the need to protect it.

  Your own room in the house we live in, and yes it has a door!
  
  For our guests I will make breakfast which will consist of whatever the person wants to eat. Lunch will be available but our guests will prepare it for themselves. I of course will supply the food for lunches. Dinner will be prepared by myself everyday, it is our hope you join us for dinner and share in conversation. I only cook gourmet food so you will eat great tasting organic food while you are here.

  Our island is a small community packed with amazing natural places to be. If you come here you must be self-reliant because there are no buses or taxi's, and using our car is not a thing. We are located 5 minutes walking distance from the ferries and "downtown" Galiano, there is a lot to see and explore all around us. We will of course pick you up and drop you off at the ferries, and take you to a place or two that only islanders know about. Also People hitch rides quite easily here though, you can also rent scooters or use the pub bus to check out some sites and get around.
