Description
Hi, we are a couple who loves traditional farms and a well sustained and healthy ecosystem, so we bought some land that was occupied with non native plants and eucalyptus and have been slowly trying to transform it into a traditional family farm with native plants and wildlife. We have a pet horse and chicken, turkeys, dogs, cats, and probably soon a donkey, sheep and goats to help keep the shrubs controlled.
We are also trying to rebuild the old houses and barns present at the farm, as time and abandonment let them become in need of work.

We are both average English speakers, he has a degree in anthropology and science of religions, and I have a degree in law and science of religions, we used to have a touring agency specialized in historical and religious (spiritual) tours, we can discuss spiritual and religious origins and meanings, and traditions still practiced today. We do not force any of our views on anyone, we just study the subject and present our and others theories.
If we can (time and money are available) we will be more than happy to travel a bit throughout the country to show you things of your interest.
Aide
Right now the main help is to plant 1200 plants of arbutus unedo (strawberry trees) where the eucalyptus used to be. If you prefer to help restore the roofs or the chicken coop, that's welcome too. We also need to put up a fence around the property, the horse has been roaming the village as if he owns the world, and it's a bit dangerous because he has crossed some roads already. Basically, we are a 40 year old couple with way to much to do for just the two of us.

Hébergement
We have two options here, the old houses are livable, specially during the summer, but do not have running water, if you wish to be aline this is the best option.
Second option is to stay with us at our wood cottage, is small but comfortable, it was two bedrooms so one can be for you, it has two single beds that can be joined, a closet and some shelves. The cottage has running water and all common things.
We do not have electricity right now, we have a generator that we turn on as needed. Cellphone coverage depends on the weather.
The meals cans be taken with us, we are omnivores, if you are vegetarian or vegan we can buy the food but you'll prepare it yourself for your own good, ahahaha.
We prefer non smokers or at least not inside the house.

We are near Abrantes, not much to do or see around here, lots of nature, silence, space. We can take you to the city if needed.
There are castles and churches close by, also some museums, during the summer there's usually small village parties.

Maximum 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week, we are a bit old, so of it is too hot or we are too tired we just take the day off, the same is expected of our helpers.
