Description
We are a family with two kids (age 13Y and 9Y). Me and my husband work as engineer, monday to friday, and the kids are very busy with school and other activities. We live in Lecce, a beautiful town in the South of Italy, very close to the sea and full of history and fun! We look for an English-speaking friendly and sunny girl, who want to help us with the kids and their English skills!

They could find an open environment and a fresh atmosphere in our family. Our town is an amazing touristic place, with several cultural activities. We are very close to the sea and we love it so we can share with them our passion. My husband is a good cooker during free time, and he will be happy to share his cooking knowledge and secrets with them.

Aide
Me and my husband work during the day from Monday to Friday. We would like to have a little help with them for logistics: bring them or take them to school, sports or other activities (on foot, by bike or by car). Some times we could need help for meal arrangement for the kids. However, we mainly would like them to practice English! We are looking for English mother tongues workawayers!

I speak English in a fluent way and I have a basic knowledge of French. We would like our kids to practice English with an English native/mother tongue workawyer.
Hébergement
We live in a house very close to the center, within a residential area equipped also with tennis court. From our place it is very easy to reach the center, on foot or by bike. For the traveler we can offer an independent bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The house has two kitchens, in case they are needed. We usually prepare a big breakfast before school/work in the morning for all the family. At lunch we are rarely all at home so we can arrange easy stuff for those who stay at home that day. For dinner we are all together again. We don't ask the traveler to cook, maybe just some help for heating or arrange something for the kids if we are not around.

We would like the traveler to be around when the kids are at home, stay with them and help them practicing English. For the rest of the day, they are free to go around, in Lecce or to the sea, use our bikes, play sport(tennis court is available). It is easy to reach public transport for visits out of the town.

Vittorianna, her husband Massi and their children are absolutely wonderful people with lovely, fun, open, warm, caring, generous, interested, sweet, and respectful characters. Vittorianna and Massi are great, balanced parents and role models and also know how to have a good time! Their children are so funny and curious! You cannot not have a good… read more time with them and I enjoyed getting to know them better day by day a lot!

The day I arrived, I was instantly welcomed by the whole family. Not only did they include me in all their activities and planning, but I was also introduced to extended family like grandparents, friends and working colleagues. So, I easily felt like part of the family and at home from the beginning. Whenever the schedule allowed it, we ate delicious home-cooked meals together and exchanged stories. Therefore, there were always great opportunities to get to know each other on a deeper, personal level as well as our cultures and learn to appreciate them.

Living with Vittorianna and her family was a pleasure and never felt like hard "work" to me. But, if I had to describe one normal day it would include having breakfast with the whole family (if you're an early bird), walking to school with their oldest daughter, then having some time for myself to explore or taking care of Massi's pizza dough :D, picking up the children from school and having super funny and interesting conversations (mostly in English, but the children will probably also teach you some Italian if you like :)) or playing all sorts of games together and then just enjoying the family time together!

You will have your own lovely space, like in the description, so if you need some privacy or me-time you can totally have it, but you're also always welcome to join the family upstairs. I never had the feeling that I was intruding or excluded, on the contrary, it always felt very natural, comfortable and cozy.

Due to everyone's different schedules, it can sometimes happen that you spend time alone with one of the family members or the children, which is a great opportunity to have some quality time together and get to know each other even better. If the instance occurs that Vittorianna and Massi are not home in the evening, they make sure to check in with you beforehand and also during the time they're away, so you can always rely on them. In general, communication with them was always open and effortless!

Lecce and its surroundings are beautiful and have so much to offer! Vittorianna and her family live in perfect distance to the city centre and with a bike you can easily move around and explore the city. Vittorianna was extremly helpful in planning some trips with me as she had great recommendations for the area. I was there during the winter time and found everything already beautiful. But, everyone I encountered told me I had to come back in summer, so I can imagine how even more marvelous it must be then!

In case you haven't already noticed, I just wanted to conclude that I absolutely enjoyed every second with this family and I was very sad when my three weeks I got to spend with them were over (yes, we cried a little bit :D). But, I am also so grateful for meeting and getting to know them and I cannot wait to come back to Puglia to visit them again! Until then, take care Vitto, Massi and family! See you again soon! ❤
