Description
My name is Manuel. I was born and raised on the Osa Peninsula, where I own a traditional old finca located in the middle of the jungle.
My husband is French-Costa Rican and has lived in Costa Rica for over 10 years.
Our project is to create a food forest, preserve the existing rainforest, replant deforested areas, create and maintain trails in the forest, build wood cabins, develop a vegetable garden, maintain and develop our cocoa and vanilla plantations...
We have two dogs and chickens.
We are surrounded by many fauna and flora... On the farm you can see many animals since we are connected to the Corcovado National Park.
This year we started monitoring wildlife with camera traps on all our trails, looking for Pumas, Ocelots and other large mammals that we have already had on our property
It is a perfect place for bird lovers. Bird counts are done weekly using the Merlin and eBird apps.
We are at 30 minutes driving from the nearest town Puerto Jimenez.

You will participate in our different projects of conservation and sustainable living. You will discover the incredible natural treasures of this region presented by the National Geographic as "the most biologically intense place on earth".

Hébergement
You will be accommodated in a renovated traditional house that you may share with us from time to time. The house has a living space, a kitchen, a bathroom with an outside shower, a work surface with internet... We provide the basic products for cooking and the fruits of the finca. It is very important for us that participants are very tidy with their belongings and also in the house and kitchen.

There is so much nature on the doorstep there really isn’t any need to go anywhere. The work is very reasonable & we even had days by ourselves in their lovely home.
It isn’t near any restaurants or nightlife to be prepared to be away… read more
