Description
Hello Workawayers! I have a small and very characterful house in a former fishing village about 30 minutes from Amsterdam. The house is in a quaint old part of town, but a few steps away from the lively harbour with lots of bars, cafes and music. It's a fully renovated house with a small, private garden backing onto the 'village pond' with many ducks, swans, moor hens and other water birds. It's a lot of fun in Volendam ... many people who come here prefer it to Amsterdam :-)
If you come here you will have your own room, but we will share the bathroom and kitchen. You need to be clean, tidy and discrete, as am I. I might go away and leave you the house to yourself for afew days.
In case it's of interest I may be offering the house as accommodation for a longer period (2 - 3 months) between end of February and early summer with a rent to be agreed. Possibility of a car also being available.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

My main language is English so I can help you with that if you would like. I also speak fairly good Dutch, French and Italian. I'm happy to accommodate other nationailities, but these are my main languages for communication.

As I have a busy life, I need someone to help with a bit of post-renovation tasks .... cleaning and tidying up outside; I prefer it if you work in the mornings (from 8 or 9 am) and finish after 4 or 5 hours. Then you can go out and explore the local waterways, cycle (I have a bike you can borrow), go to Amsterdam or another beautiful town (such as Hoorn or Alkmaar) or just hang around in Volendam. I imagine you will help 20 - 25 hours per week.
I can provide 2 meals a day, that is breakfast and lunch or dinner.
I can only accommodate 1 workawayer. Preference will be given to someone who has proven DIY skills, although much of the tasks are just general and it's not too hard.
Most likely you will be aged at least 25 years old and will have good reviews, references or feedback online so I can assess your experience and personality better. Or, you can send me links showing your other activities where you have feedback (e.g. LinkedIn, Housesitter sites, bnb, or links to your work or social life).
This is because we will share a small house together during your stay, and I need to know you better before you are invited here. Thanks for understanding.Langues

Autres infos...
30 minutes by regular bus to Amsterdam.
Lots of other very beautiful, historic and interesting towns to explore, such as the port of Hoorn; Alkmaar (a mini-Amsterdam) and Edam, which you can reach by walking along the dyke for about 1 hour (or cycle in 15 minutes). Ferry trip to the island of Marken. Windmills (Zaanse Schans), Tulips (in the spring) and many local waterways.
Volendam is also known as a musical town; there are 2 concert halls right in the town and there is frequently live music in a local bar.Informations complémentaires

This was the first time I went on a trip like this. I was lucky enough to meet Anna and stay with her for a short time.
