Thank you for checking out our listing. We are happy to reactivate our volunteers program.

Our project is located at an Eco-Friendly Resort where our main attraction is that we produce beer. This is a 30 years old building that our team is working hard to get back to it’s golden days. This amazing place is surrounded by nature, animals and the most amazing lake and volcanoes views (Tenorio & Rincon de La Vieja).

We also have 4 pickleball courts, outdoor pool, indoor hot tub, walking trails, gym, farm with domesticate animals and lots of gardens. Lake Arenal is one of the biggest man-maded lakes in the world, so if you enjoy swimming or extreme water sports, Tilawa is the spot for you!

We are looking for artist, musicians, videographers, photographer and passionate gardens (this last one with a bit of experience)

> OUR OFEER:

You will become part of our hotel staff, having free and unlimited access to all the hotel & farm amenities. Our volunteers room is a two bedroom unit with an amazing view, comfortable beds and bathroom.

You will be provide with 3 meals at day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) if you wish to have extra meals, drinks, etc our workers discount will be apply to you.

You will practice spanish, as most of our staff do not speak English. They can visit Arenal Volcano, Tenorio Volcano, Rincon de la vieja volcano. We also have waterfalls near by ( 20 minutes away) and part of the program is teaching the workawayers about renovable energies.
Aide
We need help with some content for our social media pages, we need help with art for some of the hotel walls, we also need help with our gardens and with our animals. We have mini pigs, dogs, cows, goats, sheep, ducks and some others. All of them have been raise by us since babies so they are use to people and need lots of attention. All our animals are free to hang around our 8 acres property but they all come back at 5:30 pm for dinner time.

A two bedroom unit will be available for volunteers, you will have each a private space which is divided by the bathroom that is in the room. Room is spacious, has balcony and an amazing view of the lake.

Monteverde, La Fortuna, hotsprings, waterfalls, wildlife rehabilitation center, botanical gardens, the eerie Lago Cote, Rio Celeste, etc.

This place is awesome! Beer's great, accommodations for volunteers are good, plus the food's amazing. I spent 6 weeks working in the restaurant, the hotel guests and even tourists stopping by are the coolest—it was fun serving them. At first felt very welcomed, but got kicked out after being there for 5 days, without a proper reason and having worked every day more than I was supposed to. I even replaced the chef and cooked for the whole hotel for a day. But apparently the reason I had to leave was that i did not help out. Ironic.

Awesome place with great food and beer, the work was mostly pretty chill, all the staff were super friendly and veronica and jp make you feel comfortable there immediately, we really enjoyed our time here and highly recommend it !!

The brewery was an awesome place. I stayed there for three or four weeks helping build a couple websites and had a blast. It is a good place for someone self-motivated as there is not always someone around to tell you what to do. The staff are super fun and friendly, especially Tia!

This was my first ever Costa Rica and Workaway experience, and I'm super thankful that it was. Since it was a hotel, it served as a hub for scores of people from afar. I met Canadians, English and Scottish folk, Americans, and of course, the wonderful Tico/Tica staff. It truly is a family-run hotel. The kids of the kitchen staff, amusingly enough,… read more were among my favorite people and a ton of fun to be around - I truly miss them a lot. The hotel was generous with beer, so I was a bit spoiled, haha. The dorm was nice and simple, and I got to wake up everyday to the early sun, the lake, to birds chirping...ahh, nature's serenity. The fact that hotel guests sometimes slept in the dorm was great too, because I got to meet some seriously rad people as a result. The views were unparalleled, with sweeping lake views from the backyard and patio. The skate park (found off the driveway) is also a sweet spot to chill at if you skate or if you just want to meet some of the local youth!

Access to the lake was really quick and easy (also a lovely walk), and my trip to Arenal Volcano took about 1.5 hours on the bus that arrives at the hotel driveway (and it also only cost me about $20 for the day - $10 in entrance fee, $6 for bottled water - which was my choice - and $4 for the entire bus ride!). Free hot springs were a couple miles or so from the volcano too, so check that out and ask the national park staff for directions! Monteverde isn't far from the hotel, either.

The only downfall is that the hotel is a bit isolated, and even access to Tilaran (about 10 minutes) can't compensate because there's not much there, really. But maybe you're looking to be isolated and away from areas dense with people. Thankfully the hotel served as the community because of all the people, so it doesn't feel like you're living like Henry David Thoreau. There were also times when I felt I didn't know how to be useful, but I wanted to ensure that I fulfilled the minimum hour requirements, so I could have used some more guidance - but maybe that was my own fault because I could have approached the staff or other Workawayers. Still, they put me to work when they needed help, and otherwise I basically had the privilege of being my own boss! So I got to do a lot by my own will - bartend (and talk to friendly tourists in the process), garden, landscape, and market on social media, and I had fun doing all those tasks.

Overall my experience at the hotel was so wonderful. The people were arguably my favorite part. You're submerged in one of the most unique places in Costa Rica - it's lush even during dry season, and the temperatures are glorious, with a perpetual breeze to cool you off when needed. Also, there are monkeys in the trees, so look out for those ;)

I stayed at this hotel for a month, the entire staff is very welcoming and makes you feel right at home. The hotel has plenty of amenities to use when you are not working. Met some of the most authentic workers while working here, it was a great experience and definitely recommend it!

I loved working here and in the Microbrewery. The family is amazing and the experiences I had while at the hotel were all amazing. I worked in the bar for a month before traveling north. The hotel staff and family are amazing and extremely helpful, they make you feel right at home. I highly recommend this workaway experience.
