Description
Come join us in our lakeside paradise!
We are a group of friends that left the city behind to live together in nature. We live a community-style life and share projects and meals together on the land. We live off-grid and it is a lot of work so we welcome folks for visits to experience our lifestyle, enjoy the lake and mountains, and help us with various projects on the land.
UPDATE: Right now we are especially looking for folks with experience in carpentry, construction, or mechanics. Not required but extra bonus points if you have these skills :)
We are looking for special people to visit and volunteer with us at our small intentional community project. We are located in a stunning remote location and live a vibrant, healthy lifestyle. We live lakeside with a heritage apple/apricot orchard, and are enhancing the landscape naturally with permaculture and natural building projects. Tell us about yourself and why you would be a good fit to join us.
Accommodations will be your choice of several gorgeous private tent sites, with access to the shared common house with full bathroom, shower and internet. Toilets are outhouse-style composting toilets.
We provide food for breakfasts and lunches (you serve yourself). Dinner is usually when we come together as a community and you'll have the chance to take part in that. We take turns making dinner so you will have a turn occasionally to cook (we provide the food).
4-5 flexible hours of helping per day on various projects around the land. When possible, we try to match projects with your skills and desires.
Projects can include many things depending on the season and our current priorities. Examples include soil building, pruning, landscaping, construction and building of various types, firewood collection/chopping/stacking, and many more.
Experience in any of the above things are an asset. Necessary willingness to respect community intentions and atmosphere.
You'll have lots of free time as well to enjoy the lake and mountains which surround us!
Preferred length of stay: 1 week minimum to 1 month if we're all getting along.

You will learn about community building, self-sufficiency and growing your own food, and see how we manage to live so independently on our own terms without having normal jobs.
We live in a stunning beautiful, wild, lakeside paradise and love to swim, boat, hike, eat, play games, and just plain old relax and unwind, all the while creating our community paradise.Aide

Hébergement
We have a couple of normal beds available in our communal house, but if it is really busy here you may need to sleep outside in a tent (not a problem here since the nights are relatively warm until the end of September.)
We are also happy to share food and meals with you for the duration of your stay here. We expect helpers to do their share of meal prep and household clean up.Autres infos...
We are in a beautifully wild and remote location, so unless you have your own vehicle it requires some planning to get here. The easiest way to get here without a vehicle is to hitch a ride to Lillooet, and then take a train from Lillooet to Seton Portage (very close to our location). This train runs once per day Mon-Fri at 3:30pm for $5. Alternatively, we can occasionally pick people up from Whistler or Pemberton (approximately once per week) when we make trips into town. For this option, you may need to wait up to a few days for a ride depending on our schedules. The difficulty getting here is worth it though—the beauty, wilderness, and private remote setting is unparalleled.
During your time off, you are free to explore as you wish—we usually spend our free time swimming, kayaking, hiking, eating healthy meals together, playing music or games, socializing, and just plain old relaxing.
We are good communicators, and value loving respectful relationships very highly.Informations complémentaires
