I spent two amazing months at Juliet's farm, and I can't thank her enough for the incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, Juliet's warmth and generosity made the farm feel like home. She is one of the most kind and selfless people I've met, always going out of her way to ensure I felt comfortable and welcomed.

From feeding the animals and mucking out stables to taking care of the horses, doing maintenance around the farm, and visiting Equipark, there was always something new and exciting to do. Juliet’s wonderful dogs—Cesar, Bea, Flick—and the adorable puppies ( especially Norman!) brought so much joy and made the days even more special.
Juliet created a space where I met amazing people who quickly felt like friends. The supportive, close-knit community at the farm really made the experience unforgettable.
Riding with Puffin and Boogie was an absolute joy, and caring for Grace, who was too young to be ridden, made my bond with her just as special. It was the most fun I’ve ever had working with horses, and the environment Juliet created made it all the more meaningful.
Juliet has a way of making everyone feel valued, and her home is a place filled with love and positive energy. I highly recommend this Workaway to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable stay.
Thank you again, Juliet – and to anyone considering this experience, you won’t regret it!

Devon arrived directly from America after a long haul flight. I met her at the bus and was instantly impressed by her cheerful positive attitude even after a long journey. Devon had no previous experience of close contact with horses and ponies but threw herself into the care, feeding and some very tough post winter grooming jobs! She made some very close bonds with a few of her favourites and was always open to learning more.

We have missed her around the yard and farm since she has left but know that whoever is lucky enough to host her will be delighted also.... We look forward to seeing you some day again Devon!! 🙏😊

I’ve struggled to write this review for such a long time as to reduce this incredible experience to words is no easy feat.
Juliet was my first Workaway experience and I couldn’t have asked for better. She was responsive to messages even though she’s constantly on the move. Juliet is such a calming presence and such a joy to be around. She puts a
… read more lot of trust in us as volunteers to get recurring jobs done but is also around to provide instructions or information on specific tasks. And if not around she’s only ever a voice message away.
I enjoyed having the balance of doing general repairs/ manual labour jobs around the farm as well as working with the horses. There’s something for everyone to do even if you’re not horse savvy.
Speaking of horses, what a joy! I learnt so much about how to care for these beautiful animals. Building a connection with these horses and getting to see them every work day has been on of my highlights (Shout out to Baby Finn, and Reuben).
Juliet is truly a mother at heart, and took care of us as if we were one of her own. She has raised two incredible young men who I had the absolute pleasure of meeting. I always looked forward to seeing Oscar, and I’m excited to keep in touch and see where his life is going to take him!
Obviously it’s unfair to review a place on the volunteers there at the time, but I think I lucked out with my group. We all became really close and would enjoy spending time in the kitchen cooking, laughing, playing card games, eating, and watching movies on someone’s laptop. I still keep in touch daily with some of the volunteers I made there and would absolutely consider them friends. It’s a time I wish could’ve lasted forever.
Juliet, from the bottom of my heart, I can’t thank you enough for facilitating this experience for me. I would’ve never thought that across all my travels, your little slice of Ireland would be the highlight.
Until we meet again,

At long last catching up on reviews! Nathan arrived to stay with us in the middle of winter, middle of January and stayed for two months and he was such a pleasure to host. Not the easiest time to be on a farm in Ireland yet he was always in good form, cheery and willing to help with whatever tasks needed to be done.
Nathan gets along with
… read more everyone he's easy going and relaxed, no stress over anything really. He's confident and kind and uses his initiative to see things that are helpful without being asked to do them. Despite being reasonably novice riding he embarked with enthusiasm on a project horse who he was very faithful and diligent with caring for him and learning alongside a more experienced rider. He was always helpful to the other workWays and happy to assist them in their projects.
Nathan is a lovely guy to have around the place, friendly, sociable, and reliable. He got on great with everyone else in the house and my two sons were really fond of him, my youngest who had most time with Nathan always asks after him and speaks fondly of his stay with us. He's a gentle and unassuming presence around your home and I would highly recommend him to any host
Laissé par l'hôte pour le workawayer (Matilde)
I have fallen behind badly in reviews and this should in no way reflect on how amazing Matilde is as a wonderful person and a total pleasure to host for workWays! She is now more like a member of our family as she stayed over the Christmas period and our whole extended family shared a very memorable fun time with this particular group.
Matilde
… read more arrived in early December to help work on the farm and with horses without any previous experience and she very quickly picked up the day to day routine and proved to be a very reliable dependable and mature person to have around the place. Along with the others there was always great laughter and fun which in a dark winter day is a breath of fresh air on a muddy farm!
Matilde learned to lunge ponies, began riding and showed great interest and bravery for a novice rider. She was fantastic with one small pony Fred (!) in particular keeping him lunging and exercised. She was very willing to help with all the other yard duties like feeding, mucking out, grooming, watering, some gardening etc and always with a big bright smile. On rainy days everyone embarked on some painting.... Having fun together... More than walls were painted! She is also a very talented artist and we cherish beautiful hand painted cards from her.
Matilde is very sociable and friendly getting along very well with the others in the group (in fact making friends for life) and having a great sense of adventure to explore the surrounding areas at the weekend and free times. I cannot recommend her highly enough to any host, we were thrilled to have her stay for 5 weeks and a great surprise she returned to us for another 3 weeks after some travel in Ireland we had really missed her so it was great to have her 'home' again.!! We hope you will come again Matilde!
Laissé par l'hôte pour le workawayer (Magdalena)
This is very long overdue for Magdalena who is an exceptional girl and workaway. Anyone can be more than blessed to have her stay with them.
Magdalena arrived in the depths of winter to a wet and damp winter in Ireland. From the word go she settled in with the already well established group and was a great addition to the group.
She is mature

She was very supportive throughout a difficult time of bereavement in the family along with the other workWays and I felt very reassured to leave them all in charge of the yard and animals for some periods of time. Magdalena was particularly good at taking responsibility during this period.
She is a fantastic rider and had some great outings to the local equipark schooling horses and is confident and extremely patient with bringing on younger horses.
She gets along really well with other people and enjoyed their company exploring the area around at weekends. I would highly recommend her to any host in particular those who have horses and need a very reliable experienced horse woman. We really missed her when she left and so do her horse projects!!

For anyone reading the review Hannah is a very special person. She's brave and willing to try new things with such enthusiasm. I was impressed with how quickly she got back in the saddle and was quite happy to go cross country jumping with the others quite shortly after beginning riding again. She did a fantastic job with great patience teaching a pony to stand whilst mounting as she had got nervous of the mounting block. Hannah persisted and was so patient with her and brought great results! She worked really hard on all the other yard duties with great willingness.
I was very impressed by her maturity and her zest for life, and independent but with the best sense of fun and a laugh which is contagious. You would never be in bad form with Hannah around!
She is also a very talented artist and I would have loved more time to explore these lovely skills. We hope that you will return someday and feel like we have gained a family member along with the other great young people we shared that period with and who became such close friends... Itt was a joy to witness. From our part we had a Christmas to remember forever. I highly recommend Hannah for any host for the future, and hope we see you soon again!

This review is long overdue, I left the cottage a month ago but I’m still thinking about my splendid 1 ½ months stay at Juliet’s cottage and farm.
Arriving with the plan to stay 2 weeks at most, I quickly found a second family there and could not leave them. But after a month, I got on my way with a friend I had met at the cottage. We explored
… read more more of Ireland, but we missed Juliet, the horses and the cottage and farm life so bad we had to come back before going back home! I’m am not the only one to extend my stay, so if you think about coming to Juliet’s, don’t be surprised if you extend yours, or find yourself coming back!
I had a grand time with the other travelers, making long lasting friendships and making memories for life including, but far from being limited to, having been invited by Juliet’s family for Christmas! Juliet and her whole family are the kindest, most caring and welcoming people I have ever met. Truly.
The work at the farm was exciting and many different tasks had to be handled, taking care of the barn and stables, fields and equipment, and of course, working the horses or going on hacks. They are all still learning about one thing or an other, either human touch, or the lounge, working on their balance and folding once cantering, or learning to move less while mounting. So it’s never the same day there for sure. I loved this work with them Blue forever in my heart :)
Having not ridden for many years, I loved having the chance to get back in the saddle, and learning so much about how to truly care for the horses and barn on a daily basis (all the things I never really learned at my old riding school…).
Juliet would give us some directions in the morning for what specifically needed to be done, but we had great liberty at working at our own pace, and taking initiative for anything we thought might need some attention.
We also worked at the cottage when the weather really wasn’t in our favor, giving it a fresh coat of paint, which was a very funny bonding first weekday with the others. But otherwise, we loved our time at the farm. At lunchtime, Juliet would always make us good warm food, and during our weekends, we had access to a car, which was great to go exploring the south east of Ireland. There are also fun pub nights in Bunclody..
Thank you Juliet for everything you did, and offering me and the others our most incredible workaway experience!
À bientôt! Bisous
Hannah

Fenja stayed with us for 3 weeks in what was the second wettest march on record in Ireland! I had every confidence leaving her and the other girls in charge during some necessary visits to my elderly mother who became ill during this period. I would highly recommend her for any host and especially for horses. She had a great time at the equipark and loved the jumping

My three week stay at Juliets was my first workaway experience. She was extremely welcoming and kind and also completely honest about the farm and the kind of work there beforehand.

The work on the farm was lots of fun for me and definitely not to hard, but there was always something to do and its good if you have an eye for things that need to be done and can work independently. In the morning we took care of all the everyday farm chores and afterwards we had plenty of time to work with the horses, cuddle the dogs or go for a hack.
We always ate lunch at the farm, Juliet and sometimes her son Oscar joined us and we had great chats. She tried very hard to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy.
While I was there I was also lucky to experience the birth of two cute foals, which was one of my highlights, next to jumping at the equipark. Juliet has lots of different horses at the farm, there is a suitable one for everybody, I mainly worked with the youngsters (Reuben the little superstar) and loved jumping Blue!
I can only thank you Juliet for your welcoming and warm-hearted nature and your trust, you really made the stay unforgettable.

She has a particular gift at gaining trust in an untouched horse. She was persistent and patient allowing them to decide to trust her without rushing them to the next step. She also schooled others and hacked out across country confidently She rides very nicely on the flat and the horses listen to her and she persisted until she gets the desired response and cooperation.
Her natural affinity with horses is very evident and her years of experience working in stable yards gives her a great work ethic. She worked together with the other workaways to organise the tack room and barn, sort out and clean tack, and with the other rider they made good choices for new tack to improve the existing older saddles and bridles.
The Irish heatwave meant that Viola could further contribute her great skills as a photographer and take advantage of the great weather to do some fantastic photo shoots of horses, ponies and puppies for which I was very grateful.

I had my first workaway experience with her and was thrilled.
She is such a loving, warm and helpful soul. Every day she came to see the other workaway girls and me and brought groceries. She helped with trip planning, speaking English, listened attentively to stories and it felt more like family than workaway
For free food and lodging, I did yard

I felt very comfortable and she as a person in my heart.
I can only recommend this host to everyone. I had a great time there

Jenny arrived as part of my first workaways experience and she met the two other girls staying and they immediately were social and worked very well together. Jenny is great fun, open and kind and she is very easy to get along with, she is committed to the tasks and worked alongside the others and made a great change in clearing my garden. She is

Juliet was my first workaway experience and it was amazing. Even before I got there she helped me with my travel plans and made it easy to get to her.
I stayed at the cottage the same time two other girls helped out. We did some gardening (weeding, planting, scraping, ...) and painting inside the house. One of the girls was very experienced in
… read more gardening stuff so she discussed the tasks with Juliet and passed in on to us. Juliet always appreciated the work we did. We made an arrangement that we cook for ourselves but she bought the food/ingredients and with this she was very generous! She always asked if we needed anything (food and all kinds of things).
Juliet does not live at the cottage but she came by every day to check in and chat with us. She was very flexible with working hours/days off. She had lots of suggestions on what to explore in the area and all over Ireland and even gave me a lift sometimes to help me to get to places easier! She is very interested in getting to know her guests (we discussed love, family, politics, ...) individually and as a group ❤️
The cottage is an interesting place and I enjoyed staying there. There is no WiFi but a lovely café (brother) in the town (bunclody) will save everyone who is desperate for it. The house is in the middle of renovation so don't expect a modern 5 star hotel and better don't be too afraid of some spiders haha - however, I enjoyed living this simple life for a week!Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.

Lydia came as one of my first workaways for a week and she lived and worked with two other girls she hadn't met before. It was an absolute pleasure to host Lydia and together with the others she worked very hard in the garden, clearing difficult areas and getting it back to looking great. She also did painting and was very careful and she added
